Will they work through the night? How many portions of stringen juice can you make with one stringen plant?
not typically, no… they will simply be more effective during their normal work cycles… very randomly though, you’ll find a worker who decides to push on, and value his labor over slumber (at the cost of reduced efficiency the next day)…
there’s a random chance of creating anywhere from 1-5 vials worth from one harvested plant…
Can you create a viral form of Stringen juice which permanently alters the DNA of the selected humanoid? I m-mean p-p-person, hehe?
no known methods can accomplish this… however, some of the arcane alchemists have been known to experiment on the fringe of accepted practices…
This all sounds very late game, with some mods for modern technologies. Although with all my questions, you seem to have all the answers @SteveAdamo…
tha’ts because i’m an incredible bs artist storyteller…
What happened to everyone else? Is it just you and me, stranded on this deserted topic? What will we do now?
Is it possible to make certain foods or drinks out of many combinations and not just one (i.e. a smoothie, or steak)? That’s right, steak can be made out of more than just a cow…
Pffft, cow steak? Please, I’m looking forward to elk steak
oh, indeed… bison steak! and bunny filet perhaps? bunny baby-back ribs?
i’ll stop now…
A full-blown barbecue with inventions rivalling those of Willy Wonka! Bear bubblegum, stringen soufflé and gazelle gobstoppers!
I saw stringen at the supermarket the other day… no sorry, it was ginseng. Nothing like good ol’ stringen…
ginseng isnt bad… in fact its a fairly decent replacement when stringen cant be obtained…
but its restorative powers (which it is more commonly known for) pale in comparison to albuta root…
Well here we go again…
Tell me more.
gladly! you see, albuta root, or “butaroot” as it is often referred to as, is highly prized in Stonehearth… it’s the tuberous root of the Albuta tree, commonly found in and around the general landscape…
its easy enough to find, as well as consume… once uncovered, it can be eaten directly for minimal effect, or boiled, drained and mashed into a sort of paste for maximum potency… when eaten, it has amazing restorative powers, healing many common wounds and helping citizens recover from common ailments…
the downside is that its extraction destroys the tree entirely, and often has an adverse reaction on the soil as well, making replanting somewhat difficult…
Well it will naturally reproduce, right?
yes, but it takes quite some time… the best approach is to find trees in the most fertile soil, and have highly skilled horticulturists on hand to ensure the root system and tree remain healthy after an extraction…
those that will be playing dwarven colonies would enjoy some nice spit-roasted elf ears to be in the game
I do expect to be seeing a fully-blown mod for this
i am actually starting to formulate some “farming ideas”, given that the system is (apparently) going to be fairly robust…
