Ah good, I was wondering whether I would have to resort to blackmail but your secrets shall remain safe, for now…
On another note, I thought my entry for the Qubicle competition was rather relevant to this topic. I won’t post or link it because then I’d feel like I was promoting it but it presented the idea of food that actually tried to eat you and I feel that could be rather amusing…
Mer Burleyhands approaches the wild yak. He arms his bow and moves in a step closer, trampling the foliage underneath. He has underestimated his prey’s abilities. The yak hears him and, as it turns around, Mer realises that this is no Yak, no. It is one of the Yakuza! A terror group attempting to prevent the humans from eating Yaks through some rather dark ways; they eat the hunter and leave his bones, covered in tattoos, at the entrance to the village. Mer tries to run but the Yak is far faster and soon Mer is no more.
Well @Elven_Hero, I guess they’re trying to appeal to more than just voxel enthusiasts of the indie-gaming age. They must be trying to those interested in Food & Decor…
yes, well… it seems the Yakuza have a strong penchant for mother nature, and have indeed taken it upon themselves to protect the Yak… they intend to prevent their premature extinction…
however, they also have a few vices, one of which is wearing finely crafted orthian silk garments, that only a skilled weaver is capable of producing… as the Yakuza are an inherently military organization, they lack the skills necessary to produce their own wares…
as such, they have struck an uneasy bargain with your settlement… as long as they receive their monthly tribute in the form of new silk attire, the Yakuza will allow for the “humane acquisition” of 2 yak per month…
Well if Stonehearth’s months are going to be as short as they’ve shown in the day / night cycle livestreams, I’ll be okay with that. Yet as I know time will take time, 2 Yaks a month won’t do…
this subset of the Yakuza are fairly nomadic, and as such, dont stay in one place long enough to mount any sizable defensive posture… and given their preference for agility in battle, they typically dont concern themselves with wearing any significant armor (they prefer to end the fight before it has begun)…
what little armor they do wear, typically consists of thin-plated leather, with the most significant armament adorning their forearms, which they can use to deflect enemy sword strikes… their torsos and legs are, for the most part, open to attack…
In heists, the criminals (or vigilantes) always come from above, but in a Yakuzian (?) campsite, that’s not possible. What if you could ambush from below, with the help of dwarves! They’re also the perfect size for hacking and slashing at the lower body of the Yakuza! Or am I missing something…
Hey @TUGenius, in this situation where you are the most recent poster (in this case 3 comments) would you mind just editing your posts so that you have one that includes everything, rather than 3 separate ones? It just keeps the place clean
Also, this weeks Qubicle competition theme will be food, so, I guess we have a bit of inspiration in this thread!
Build a Grain Farm >>> Wheat
Build a Pig Farm >>> Wheat >>> Pigs
Build a Butchery >>> Pigs >>> Meat
Build a Grain Farm >>> Wheat
Build a Wind/Watermill >>> Wheat >>> Flour
Build a Weller >>> Fresh water from rivers/streams nearby.
Build a Bakery >>> Flour + Water >>> Bread
Afterwards one solution:
Build a Town Hall >>> Workers may dine and all your food is stocked here!
perhaps seafood? crawfish are found in rivers, so its possible, as well as small fish, deeper out (depending on boats or not) you get better fish or so, like trout, bass, or catfish
i like your train of thought here… can you elaborate though? are you suggesting the building of these structures provides for the collection/consumption of these food types?
