Tales of Stonehearth: People with Swords

Well whats done is done and can not be undone, unlucky.Amazing work these are some of the best models I have seen on this forum.Would love to see some more animation though, you seem naturally talented in this area of expertise.Keep it up

Noooooo! I want a dislike button on this :crying_cat_face:

I do however work and game with a mousepad, even LoL, to the astonishment of practically everyone and although I’m sure you’ll know this, it’s alt and right click to zoom in and out. God’s speed in getting a new mouse though :mouse: :running:

Holy crap, man. I had to use a wireless mouse for the past couple of weeks (not now, thankfully) and every time my mouse would run out of batts, I would go ape-ballistic. Thankfully I found a USB one, albeit an old one.

I feel you, bro.

Is that… a yognaut? You mentioned rendering an entire Earth, which could only be seen from space, so…

this must be remedied… provide me with your address, and you shall have a new mouse within 24 hours…

of course, being Italian, in return for my graciousness, i may ask you for a favor at some point…

Blender does not require a middle mouse button, look up some controls.

That would be the ambient occlusion (shading based on how close it is to other surfaces). It doesn’t seam to be grainy on the render with 3 characters though. Did you find it and fix it or were the previous images screenshots with screen space ambient occlusion (the post processing version)?
Anyway, just though I’d throw the names out there so you have something to go on if it keeps bothering you.

I fixed it, I found that when ambient was on it made the pixels and the higher amount of passes would make it gradually dissipate.

ALRIGHT. I have a quick update. After a few hospital visits the last few days and the mouse issue I’ve gotten back on track on the Thieves Guild HQ. I’ve been trying to figure out a way to put together a sewer/wooden mansion type model for the HQ, but I couldn’t make it to compliment the games style close enough. so Instead I’ve been working on a campsite for the guild instead.

This changes things a bit. Imps will smuggle things into the city for mission and jobs instead of out of the city, making the relationship of Imps and the Guild more believable. Secondly, it’ll make the thieve climbing abilities have an origin of climbing mountains and adjusting very quickly to wildlife (Bears, wolves etc) to be applied the buildings and guards.

This is what I got so far:

I’m trying to stick with what we know in Terrian, I’ve used the cliffside village and 1x16th terrain images from past Desktop Tuesdays, I feel very confident that I will be accurate in my recreating terrain. I’ve made a Tent model and Thanks to @Froggy for allowing my to use his super sexy crate models. They will play a lot of filling room.

The hole in the side of the cliff on the top left corner is a mine, abandoned after the goblins took it from the Green country. I will have a story update at some point next week for you guys and hopefully the text bubbles and blocks images as well.

PEACE!

Rendering it up here Boss:

I decided to use more community assets like the Tree Pack by @neobonde and @Froggy’s Crates. I feel they fit in well with the tent I designed and the chair from my chair pack. If you want the trees or my chair they are available on the Template thread here:

I wanted to try an outdoor shot, I feel I found good render settings. I’ll be messing around with the settings more to try and ditch the pesky lines seen on the ground by cliff foot. Aside from that I plan to update this with a fishing villager sometime soon.

I can’t stop working. Another render :sunny:

This is just to the left of the other render I just posted. I put some tents down as well as more crate as a means of separation instead of constantly having empty space. I’m going to start working on a Sleeping bag model so people aren’t just sleeping on the ground. The crates in this image are by Froggy, I scaled them up to be bigger so that it would require a means of transport instead of being carried, smaller crates will be inside tents as a table or extra decor.

wags tail faster than when @Newf spies his ladydog

WHY, PANDEMIC? Why you gotta do that?!?!?

Because it takes a butt ton of render time for 5 seconds.

In a slightly related topic, here’s a quick Minecraft copy of one of the houses from the Building variant blog entry:

It was the best I could do with the materials from vanilla. Not the best, but I’m pretty sure that’s about as close as it’ll come.

@Pandemic what if you were to design some sort of symbol for the guild that you could add onto the side of the tents among other things.
