I like the idea of a symbol, but instead of putting it on the diagonal side and it looking…funny…maybe have banners out in front of the tents? Unfortunately we’ve not yet seen how the devs are gonna do banners/flags however I’m sure @Pandemic could design one or outsource it
I already have a symbol made and ready. It’s been added to the tents I will be using across the river.
I made a 4 second animation for a panning shot across the pedestrian camp grounds as they are now:
This side is almost done, this is mostly a test of the shot type.
Great job it’s looking good.
Story Update:
So, the story has gone through some BIG changes. I’d like to thank the continuous help from one @naturalnuke he has been ever so helpful when I came up with new ideas for the story and helping me make sense as well as helping me keep the story from becoming Swiss cheese (full of holes).
So first off, The guild is now focused around the countries mountains. I released some renders and a short panning shot of what a camp might look like yesterday. After the False King took over the land, the people who rebelled took to the mountains and merged with the Guild to form a society. Among this society there are goblins, imps, a few trolls (
) and humans who have all been affected by the actions of the False King.
The biggest change I’ve made is that the first few chapters will focus more on Conradin’s transition phase. I imagine it would be rather difficult to wake up to find out everything you knew is gone coupled with the fact that you were brought back forcefully through black magic. The overall arc hasn’t been changed overly too much but when Ysmay and Tobias find Conradin, he will already be used to his new ability and skill set.
Last night, some people opened the conversational doors to the guilds symbol. This is it:

This is a symbol with actual meaning. I used the idea of Conradin’s death as a big thing that sets the guild on the path it’s on. So I used a Black Rose, one of it’s meaning is Love after Death. I chose this because of Conradin’s feelings towards fixing his home before allowing Death to take him again. Below the rose, is a Crown that is upside down. This is basic, it means the fall of royalty.
That’s what I have so far, my focus still remains on the setting of Chapter 1. I will have some location renders of chapter 1 asap.
PEACE!
Great work @Pandemic, are you going to render all the backgrounds too?
By backgrounds to you mean the where the characters are or the backdrop behind those?
Contest Time:
Now I have a personal creations page I haven’t updated in awhile and there is a reason for that. I have left clues to some details on the False King that tells a massive section of his story and brings light to why it was that he had the power to take over the green country.
First Person to find this detail (with proof of find/evidence) will have a name of there choosing(as long as it fits in) to be the 4th and Final main character in the series. My only hints is that my Qubicle Creations thread and this one house certain details.
Well, I think I have a few ideas on how he had the power…
One, though this is hard to tell without seeing the alignment of the Country’s deity, could be that Tytonis granted him the power and armies to do with as he pleases so long as he did something for him. What that would be, I cannot say. But this god may very well be a benevolent god (as his armor colors may indicate) and this could be entirely wrong.
Second theory, you mentioned the little imps that are used to smuggle goods, kill civilians, etc. Perhaps the False King had opened some sort of portal to a demonic dimension and built himself a demon army, but in turn it ended up releasing nuisances like those imps and other creatures into the world.
Third, and my most solid theory I believe, the False King used deceit and lies to get the various goblin hordes to do his bidding, such was the case with Tobias:
The turmoil of the queen dead, and possibly the king at a later point, led the False King to be able to rally in some support politically and eventually stage a coup to take over the country. The goblins were not much of a use to him after his rivals were eliminated, so he immediately started to off them when their jobs were done.
And, since there we no bodies (at least not mentioned) in this quote:
Perhaps a bit of necromancy was at work for him?
You are very close, the certain parts of both theories are clues I left. I think you are thinking too much of Tytonis in the theories though.
As far as Imps go they are natural inhabitants, though that it an interesting idea of the species coming to the world
You should definitely make your own race of beings, or at least a kingdom of them, which are called the Retmen. I think it would be a great and wholly appropriate variation to the world of high fantasy.
I only mentioned him once. And I did so because you said he’d “play a major role in the series.”
Perhaps its because I love the original Warcraft trilogy too much, but I always found the creatures from other dimensions being pulled through into our world and slowly changing how life works interesting. Sounds weird, but y’know!
Though you only mentioned him once, He is the basis of your theory. He gives The false king power. Lets say Tytonis decided not to give power to the false king, he’d just be another guy with a plan but no resources to carry it out
He’s the basis of one theory. Like I said, I had three.
One, though this is hard to tell without seeing the alignment of the Country’s deity
I’d be more inclined to go with my third theory, lemme look for some more clues.
Perhaps he studies for years in solitude to learn the art of necromancy, and slowly raised an army to take the capital after creating political turmoil by killing the queen and possibly the king?
edit:
What other reason would they be fighting a giant
?
Well Necromancer’s tend to make scary things to use right?
the landscape itself looks fantastic, but when infused with the other assets (those tents fit perfectly, by the way), it really does start to come alive… well done…
i’d say thats a safe assumption… there is quite a rich history around necromancy…
As long as those Necromancers draw the line at Zombie/Skeleton dogs I’m happy, I do not want to see my ex-girlfriend walking around again she was a real b*tch, literally
Yes, I mean the backdrop like the forest and camping grounds.
Yes I will be, though because of this it takes longer
Render is the worst part of animation. It takes for ever.
Estimated Timeline of the Next Month:
Starting in September, all of my family is back in school. This frees up a bunch of my time to work on ToS. I’ve prepared a timeline of MY HOPES! This is a best estimate on how things are right now and can certainly change.
August 18th - August 31:
- Finshing Rigging and Modeling terrain and characters for Chapter 1
- Finish Custom Eyes (Testing not guaraenteed)
- Finish Writing Chapter 1
September 1 - September 14th
- Start modeling and such and such for Rendered scenes and panels
- Start Editing renders with Speech and Custom Eyes
- Birthday - Release of Page 1 of Chapter
That is my hopes for this next months time. I am hoping to have started Chapter 1 before Beta release. With that stated, I am of very bad health as of late, there may be snags that prevent progress. I refer to the motto of Nintendos Wii U “Thank you for you Patience”.
I’ve also been thinking of ways the community to help me make the series. I think if someone had a Minecraft Server we can get 20ish people on and they can help me work on the Green County Captial?
my name is Steve, and i approve of this schedule… ![]()
