Not sure if it is intentional or not. I noticed that the combat animations are quite slow. This may be because the game overall seems to be running much smoother, even though this is an unstable version. I suspect a lot of optimizations were done in prep for mp.
Specifically the level 3 footman Power Spike where they do a jumping overhead swing looks a bit silly because if the enemies do not agro on the hearthlings then they are basically staying in one spot jumping and swinging at nothing while the goblins just calmly walk past them and raid my stockpiles.
I have to admit it was funny the first time.
