Actually, we declared independence because of your stupidly high taxes!

…even though America has some really high taxes nowadays…

HIGH TAXES? In US?I must laugh :stuck_out_tongue:
Though Denmark is probably not the best country to set it up against as we have one of the highest taxes in the world (or the highest do not really remember)

Yep let’s make only one sponsor which is representing us… The game is going to be quite a lot easier without any opponents :stuck_out_tongue:

Said the one from the protestant country…

Ireland = Christianity.

We just got Water Tax.

Oh… I nearly got the location right though… I was guessing England. Lets see how long before i forget it this time.

Also not just christianity but catholicism (Is it spelled that way?) which is quite an important difference as it has developed into quite a lot of different branches.

56,2 % that is the highest tax rate you can get to pay in Denmark

“No taxation without representation!”

Fast forward two hundred years

“You know… if King George were alive today, he’d make Rand Paul look like a big government luvvie…”

Probably.

Our tax is close to that but we probably pay more taxes since we have more different forms of taxing. You have the highest rates but we have more taxes.

You won’t get me going on other types of taxation :fearful:

Did we just have a discussion about religion and the ludicrous that was the american war for “independence”? At the same time? And taxes as well?!

Gosh you guys.

2 cents: The war was taxation without representation, the american colonies actual had the lowest tax rate in the empire at the time, they were mad they didn’t get a say in it. Another fun fact, all the historical evidence points to Irish tea smugglers who committed the Boston tea party, not a single american born citizen was there, thus it is the least patriotic, and most american (they did it to protect profits) event in the whole revolution.

In other news, cant wait for this game, my bro is visiting from Australia and we are going to hot seat a game for the last few weeks of his visit. #oldschool

I’m impressed, we’ve got both religion and politics going, and its all still nice in here! this is what the internet needs more of.

@thorbjorn42gbf as for christianity, there are 4 or 5 “major” branches (depending on how you count them) that are all fairly distinct: Eastern Orthodox, Catholic, Protestant, Anglican, African Orthodox.
Then within each of those major branches are multiple splits/branches, as example, in Protestant, you’ve got Calvinist, Baptist, Methodist, Armenian, Quaker, Mennonite, Wesleyan plus a few others (these off the top of my head) as the major branches, and each of those branches has multiple denominations in them.

so yeah…it’s a bit of a mess figuring things out sometimes

I’d like to take a poll, what’d everyone’s favorite affinity and why? Also which will you play in the game if it’s different.

Yup religion is hard of keeping track of
Also go us for not burning the forum down in a discussion.

Their is a difference and i would play supremacy i think because i like the idea of the units buffing each other.

But the other one are fantastic too

From what I’ve read/seen about the affinities, I’d have to say Harmony is my favorite. In civ I’m typically more infrastructure and upward growth, as well as diplomatic, and not so much warmongering, and Harmony seems best suited to that

Actually harmony has the most power full unit in the game according to the team. The rocktepus a unit that can move to and from orbit and spray a lot of acid when it is there

Well really, any of them can be aggressive, or non-aggressive… So it really just depends. If you’re going to play harmony just because they seem like they’re nice people and best suited to not attacking, I wouldn’t. Honestly, I’d recommend playing purity for max defense. But really, you should try them all at some point.
