Hey guys, posted the same thing over in the Quibicle creations thread, but just to let you know I’ve combined the majority of what people have made into a section of the Q & A thread - [urlhttp://discourse.stonehearth.net/t/collated-q-a-suggestions-thread/279/13] here[/url].
@bladjian@Chaze007 totally agree with you guys, after seeing todays stream with tom i really see how this doesn’t fit into to the world at all… needs to be way more blockier and less voxelized. thanks for the input!
@ockpii thanks! yeah good point, the hands are indeed a bit oversized… will tweak them a bit.
@AndyA220789 still not sure about sharing the model, but i guess after todays stream everybody has a better sight on the basic settler figures as tom did show them from all views. will check if i have more or less everything in place und will share some front & side views then.
@Geoffers747 thanks a bunch for keeping this great Q&A up to date! also great idea with the qubicle archive section.
@A1UR@sdee thanks a lot for the kind words, really apprechiated!
Yay update! todays stream with tom was just awesome, still so much to learn! the most important thing for me was the idea of keeping everything together with a coherent look of a very blocky & unified style when designing new stuff. also aiming always for the lowest count of voxels that is needed and to visualize only what is most important.
so i started this evening again with some weapons and a skull shield. after that i wanted to modeling a guy that acctually can use this equipment and smash some settlers. it’s still a early WIP and a lot of stuff need some more attention like the legs and the body, but i like the overall concept of him so far…
Hey Pepe, this is Tim from minddesk. Just wanted to tell you how much I enjoy reading this thread! I am happy you like my softare that much. Your enthusiasm is amazing! Keep up the great work!
@SamEWNS thanks Sam, yeah also did think of an animated voxel head when i modeled him. we’ll see… :]
@Tim thanks a bunch Tim! happy to have you here on this forum as well & glad that you like what u see so far. thanks again for this awesome piece of software! i’m in Germany right now for a few days off, but can’t wait to get back to my beloved QC! haha ;]
@A1UR hehe yeah just usual stuff! psst, @Tim might sell you some of these yummy voxel potions as well! ;] i will see if I can put up some templates next week when i’m back from my trip.
Have you thought about what sort of mods you want to make when the game comes out? To ask it another way, are you going to use these character models to develop your own story/“module”?
@DAWGaMims good question… to be honest i’m in the middle of learning the program and i have barely no idea how to animate these voxels…but with some help i totally would love to do a whole tribe or something like that. so what module would you like to see in this game from me? :]
awesome, this forum is getting more crowded every day! i just came back from my trip and my “Green Knight” did eagerly awaiting me at home to forge him his shoes and get him ready for fight!
so here’s a short update on the Knight, let me know what you like and what should be changed/tweaked?
oddly enough, i think he may look more menacing without the neck… i am extremely impressed with that model…
perhaps give the green monster face on his back a 1 voxel push outward? and maybe add the same deep green as a highlight within the belt buckle? it really is hard to find fault with anything, or provide some decent suggestions… you’ve really nailed this one…
