Magical Mod and some voxeled Creations

looks good. female models are in the files. entities/humans/female

You’ve learned well xDD

Thanks! i’ve already found them, i just have to purchase the stonhearth QC edition now to be able to import the .QB files; but i’m busy with anotehr thnigs… xD.

I 'll probaably add enemies and other things so the GM can have new toys to throw at your city xD; but this will be probably at the end of the things to design. I want to focus on the class system first, and then develop it with a magic workshop and make spells… once i have a fully implemented class tree, then i’ll try to start adding more content.

I’ve already thinked about this, and there will be small oak houses where ancient dudes with lovely beards live smoking with pipes and that can teach a secret or two if you make them some favours… Also you can find hidden and abandoned places that once belonged to important and unknown wizards ^^

Gods?? with Magic?? mmmm as far as i know, religion and Gods doesn’t fit well together xD

Absolutely YES, this sounds so exciting as dangerous, you don’t know if the next thing you’re going to dig up it’s going to convert your city on pure gold, or your citizens in sheeps… or toads… or pidgeons… at least they could fly xD.

Sorry dude, but it’s a post about a Magic Mod xD; at least I hope you like it! ^^

Greetings

But with other planes as an upcoming mechanic it would only be more epic if your archmage could travel to the plane of the goddess of magic searching for new knowledge
Also new ideas coming up:
a few new titans:
Demon lords, Ancient elementals and Arch angels from other planes (they will show up according to your play style fx. Arch angels won’t show up unless you begin messing with strong dark magic and is disturbing the planes

Hydras and dragons. Because what is a better titan than an angry beast coming to reclaim their stolen treasure?

and this isn’t a titan but a sort of boss… let’s just say don’t agro a old Sage who have studied magic the last 120 years

Mmm first we have to know how are planes going to be implemented… and 'm sure that we’ll have to wait moths for that xDD, so once we know more about that mechanic, then i’ll talk about how can i introduce it in the game.

All those idea of bosses (dragons, hydras, colossus…) i think that those will be implemented by Radiant team for sure; i mean… I’d love to see a voxelized dragon to attack my city… at least at the begining (i’m sure i’ll panic later on xD), and i’m sure that they can’t resist the oportunity to create interesting yet familiar bosses for us to fight against ^^.

The thing about magic it’s that usually, magic it’s a power with different origins than the Gods, so any human can use it to be as powerful as a God; while the Power of the Gods comes from the people that worships them, so it’s not like the magic itself… it’s another kind of magic (called divine magic). And with this difference there’s has been always a ā€œhealtyā€ rivalry between wizards and priests, because the wizards think that it’s useless to worship a God to have power if you can take it for yourself, and priests thinks that wizards shouldn’t play with things that they don’t understand to try to become something more powerful than a human should be. Mmm if have read the firsts Terry Pratchet’s Discworld Novels it’s much better explained there where all of this ancient hate comes from xD; But i think a FUN hate :stuck_out_tongue:

And now coming back to the design table: i’ve tried to add shoes to the model so it’s easier to animate with blender, but it’s becoming a really good challenge to have an initial model detailled enough to be cool.

Also, i think i’ll let everyone choose what bloodline do they want to evolve his initial sorcerer, but i’ll make every bloodline soooo interesting that you’ll want to have them all xD; Also I’m going to be working first on Sorcerers and wizards only letting druids for the last branch that i’ll work on.

I still want to have a similar class structure to his kickstarter example:

and they are also keeping this kind of tree throught the process of designing new classes, so… i’m working also on how shoud the bloodlines upgrade to and how the wizards should upgrade; i’ve plenty of ideas… i just have to put them in a FUN way to play them xD.

Wizard Upgrade Classes:

  1. Apprentice, Just learning the basics.

  2. Journeyman, Studying to create his masterpiece

  3. Great Wizard / Grand Mage / Master Magician, Studies new magic and is the most powerful a wizard can become.

As you can see this is based on the Medieval Craftsperson Tiers in real life. A masterpiece is something to do with your craft that a Journeyman would submit to a guild (Along with a sum of cash) so he could join the guild and become a master smith/carpenter/cobbler etc. For example a Carpenter might make a really extravagant, beautiful table for his masterpiece or a smith might make some ornate armour for his chestpiece or a tailor would make a fancy suit.

Also Religion + Magic does not mix unless your talking about a Cleric/priest. Wizards however are the enemies of gods and would be the most hated by the gods but are out shined by Philosophers.

I was more thinking the wizard class tree as something grand with an enormous amount of different branches because wizards are such a diverse class also it would be fun if there was so many different branches that it would become necessary to prioritize between them
Although i like your idea with the masterpiece.

The most important part of the titans was actually the creatures from other planes because i like the idea of the wizards messing with stuff they don’t understand, will end up with total disaster.

about the gods i better like the: Forgotten Realms way of doing the god wizard relationship where the goddess of magic doesn’t chose who gets the power of magic but just is there as a stabilizer for the magic. (make it not go kaboom every time you use it)
also this leads my thoughts to divine magic maybe a priest class too i know it is not a wizard or mage but it fits the theme and it would ad a whole new aspect

Edit: last post for tonight can’t post before 8 hours :frowning:

I think that Gods should not be involved at all. The eighth son of an eighth son is a wizard.

and the eight son of an eight son of an eight son of a wizard… it’s a Sourcerer  guess what’s the top tier magical class??

I like the approach that FR has to magic too (i’m a fan of Mystra and Elminster too :p), but for now i’m not going to mix Gods and magic… and if i do it in the future, i’m sure there will be God blood everywhere xDD (along with some wizard blood too xD). but who knows!! right know i’m focusing just on the classes :D, maybe i’ll release my initial thoughts on the class tree soon ā„¢ xD

@Raistlin your doing amazing work. I love all of the creations above.

Thanks @TurtleSquish, hopefuly i can post more about the progress on the models… but i’m on a break for modelling until i buy the Qubicle Constructor hearthstone edition, so i can star exporting and importing the files to animate the models and such. I’m also waiting just in case the Radiant team releases a class with a robe-like cloths, so i can base my models on that to make the animation of my dudes easier.

But don’t worry, i still have plenty of things to share with all of you ^^; In the design process i’ve to take a really fair amount of decisions about… well… about the whole mod. For instance, now that i’m developing the first model, i really had to take a choice about what’s going to be my first class and where it should be upgradeable from. So, i present to you My magical tree class branches!!

(BEWARE, NOTHING OF THIS IS SET IN STONE, AND IT CAN CHANGE IN THE FINAL RELEASE, there are ideas that seems reasonable for me and i feel Ok with, so this is going to be how i’m going to develop (more or less) the class of my mod)

First, we have the Wizard Tree class!

And second the Sorcerer Tree class!

As you can see i’ve left both links to the original image, and all of you are allowed and invited to make comments about the classes; I think both trees represent correctly both playstiles, and i’ve taking into consideration that this is a City-management game!! (so, magic like enchanting looses some effect use by the wizards, because they don’t use to fight, for example).

My thoughts on this it’s like this:

  • Wizards: They want to master the secrets of magic, if you give the the appropiate tools, they’ll server you well. Wizards are the ā€œlet me study my magic, so i don’t blow up your world by mistakeā€ class, they are a little arrogants, but if you’re looking for knowledge and esearch and crafting your own spells, these are your guys.Once you level up them enough, they can specialize in different magical areas, reaching high amounts of power in their chosen path. But even if they can cast the most powerfull spells earlier than other classes, they don’t have a very large Mana pool to cast all of them. His labor in the city will be more focused on utility with it’s own magical workshop, and they’ll be able to research to access the most powerfull spells in the game. And even they’ll be able to craft it’s own spells!
  • Sorcerers: They borned with magic inside them, you just helped them to release it. Sorcerers are the ā€œi like to blow things upā€ class, it’s really hard to make them to sit down and study, but if you’re looking for Raw power these are your guys. The more you level them up, you’ll discover that they have a particular power inside of them, allowing you to personalize what kind of sorcerer do you want. With his large Mana pool, they’ll be able to spam spells in the battlefields as no other, but in exchange, they don’t have a wide variety of spells. His labor on the City it’s much more focused on being a line of defense than helping others to craft things. but they can work with the wizards in common projects or with other soldiers to buff them up.

All the names with the ā€œ??ā€ it’s that i’m not sure about that name yet, because it doesn’t fit 100% with the idea of the class that i have. Later, i’ll make another post describing what each one of those are focused on. but if you know D&D, and pathfinder RPG books, and some other RPG games… i’m sure you can deduce what’s each class for ^^.

You can make suggestions about the names commenting in the documents, every ironic name will be really appreciated, as well as any cool name xD.

I also have more ideas for future classes, but i think that i’ve enough with these two right now.

Hope you like this! greetings and stay tuned for more! ^^

A Nigromancer!? Really!? And to top it off the Nigromancer becomes a DeathLord!!! That is extremely racist!

what?? racist?? ey, sorcerers can be un-dead… i think it’s fair :p; and BTW, not all necromancers have to be evil :(, There was a Necromancer in Diablo II and his work was to keep the balance between life an death

EDIT There’s typo with my spanish pronunciation xDDD Necromancer in Spanish it’s Nigromante, and i made a mistake, I’m sorry; It’s ok now @Newf ?? My english it’s not perfect, and i don’t want you to think that i made that on purpose.

Also, it’s not written Death Lord?? It’s Lord of the Dead/DeathĀæ??? I wanted to show that he was the Master of Death and negative energy and can control them at wish…

Sorry again for my english :frowning:

what about artificer for the artifact maker also the black red white we talked about could be put into the archmage class where a color will be chosen when you upgrade him/her
also i know it doesn’t fit as well with the theme but i think that bloodlines makes much sense if thet end up being the same

artificier it’s not bad at all! but i fear that in spanish we have a really similar word called ā€œartificieroā€ and he’s the militar in charge of explosives. The black, red, white robes could be in the arcmage, but i’m not going to think about that system yet.

The Sourcerer it’s just like my top tier class… i’m not going to have 1 top tier class for everyone… although i could try that and pair them in differents top tier class… And if i remember corectly, these classes are so OP, that in the vanilla game you’re only allowed to have 1 Top tier class of each… so it makes more sense that everyone levels up to Sourcerer.

Using the trapper example, you could have (for example, and i don’t know if this is like this) 5 trappers, 4 hunters, 2 BGH, and only 1 beastmaster in the whole city, because the Beastmaster would be OP if you had more.

shapechanger could be changed to shapeshifter
and lord of death would make more sense as warlock

Where is the Oceanographer? You know, The wizard who controls the tide, the waves, the inhabitants of the ocean etc.

This guy would be used to help out your fishing fleet or maybe summon a giant creature titan thing from the depths to defend against attackers from the sea (Remember though that if you do summon a Giant Creature Titan from the depths there is a chance that your oceanographer might be distracted by a passing butterfly and the Creature you summoned will now be a Titan trying to destroy your town (Probably after killing the invaders though)), If you don’t want to summon a massive creature from the depths you could always settle for some sharks to attack their ships (This will endanger your fishing fleet for a while afterwards however) or maybe some whales to capsize enemy ships (This will scare away all the edible fishies for a while but you could always try hunting the whales you summoned however the whales are hard to kill and may destroy your whaling boats in anger at having spears thrown at them)

The idea of this is that most things your wizard did would have side effects so you couldn’t just do whatever you wanted (This stops any wizard from becoming too OP)

That’s ā€œhydromancerā€, not oceanographer :stuck_out_tongue: .

Thing is that the Oceanographer sounds WAY better than Hydromancer

Meh, that’s like renaming the geomancer to cartographer or something though. Just doesn’t sound right (in fact, it’s dead wrong, but I mean even the coolness factor doesn’t work IMHO).

In cases like that Geomancer sounds better than cartographer but if you were to compare Hydromancer and Oceanographer, Cartographer wins. It is like a wizard that studies/has power over other planets, You would call him an astronomer because it sounds cool.
