Those are some good ideas. I think I’ll make a second tier of miner, and give him some better utilities.
Still deciding on the whole slavery thing. While I think its an okay idea, I don’t want them to be too overused. Miners could be, maybe. We’ll see.
And thanks, everyone, for the support! I’m glad I can produce something that you guys find interesting.
EDIT: Here’s three new bandits. One is just a simple upgrade of the miner, on the far right. He’s an ‘excavator.’ Instead of just flat out mining, he has more HP, mines faster, and can lay small powder kegs to quickly excavate certain areas. These have a chance of collapsing a cave, though.
The one in the middle is an upgraded version of the Thief. The thief can upgrade into the bowman or the crossbowman. The crossbowman has much less armor and has less training, but the crossbow can be a very powerful tool.
The one of the far left (darkest colors) is the berserker. He uses a large two handed greatsword. He isn’t as heavily armored as the maurader, but he’ll have a much higher damage output.
Okay, I’m working on trying to make this tower look okay. I’m having a lot of trouble. I’m still not too sure about it, can you give me some critique and suggestions?
And here are two tents I cooked up. Would you prefer more tents like these, with some bigger ones as well, or actual structures?
I LOVE the tower its probably my favourite one of you voxels so far but I dont see bandits taking time and energy just for a watch tower instead I think they would have some kind of scout who camps out a few miles away from the main camp or they would have a snitch who lived in one of the towns nearby and told the bandits whenever a trade caravan was leaving town
Its more for a permanent outpost for the clan. They’d need actual outposts around so they could have a place to regroup or pick up new recruits. Otherwise, it’d be really chaotic and they probably wouldn’t last too long before a proper group of soldiers wiped them out.
im not too sure about the tower either… perhaps its just the scale that makes it difficult to see the details? what is the “a shape” with the red center?
If you only plan on having them as an AI group running around the tents of various sizes, especially the two you have, would fit your guys perfectly.
However if you do plan on having this be a race players can play as they won’t really work well with the way the building layout system works; it’s why I’m trying to do tribal buildings now instead of teepee’s which is what I started with.
Yeah, I’m mostly focused on these being AI. But if they demand were to be high enough if this mod is created, then I will definitely work on making them playable.
But for now, I think they’d most likely be AI when the game is first released.
Then again, it depends on how easy to use the developer tools will be, because if there is any raw coding, I probably won’t be able to do this.
I’m not to sure on this model, it was my first attempt at giving something full armor.
This is the Warlord, one of the top tier combat units for bandits. If you see one of these guys you’d better run, or you better play your best soldiers and hope for the best. He’s been tested in hundreds of battles, he’s killed countless men. His strength and prowess are so revered that he is able to control and lead large
even though i like the design, i dont think that it fits the style of the other bandits. if didn’t knew that he supposed to be a bandit, i would have thought that he is just an heavy armored knight.
try to add to him some design elements from the other bandits, the bigest thing that i can think of is the mouth bandana, you can try to design the helmet in a whay that would remind it, there is no just one way to design an helmet.
i rally like the idea of this class! good luck
He is supposed to be a very powerful, well off bandit, so he would be able to afford good armor and upkeep it. But I get what you mean. Don’t worry though, in a battle, he’ll be easily identifiable beside his underlings The red is still there to help identify him as well.
I’m working on a cart, because the more mobile groups would need some way to move their loot. It feels like it is missing something but I really can’t put my finger on it.
I think the sides are too low… it looks a little like those red wagons little kids used to have instead of a cart for bandits. The wheels are also probably a bit on the small side. Or maybe I’m missing the size in relation to one of the bandits…
I do really like the little extra touches though, like the metal studs.
I know Tom does not like circles, but it is hard to imagine how the square wheels would look like when they are animated.
If I remember right you might find some carts already in the forum… just to see how others interpret them. Tobias has for sure one in his Norse-theme. I have also tried to imagine how a cart could look like and this was the outcome:
