Worries about multi-stories buildings

Hi guys ! Well I wanted to talk about my concerns on how the multi-story building “engine” is handled. On this picture that Tom posted earlier on Stonehearth.net we can see a two floors house but it seems :

  • first that the floor of the second story is made of the roof of the first one
  • second that there isn’t any way to built even a ladder in the house to link the two levels

I hope to see more of this feature in the upcomming builds and I trust you to make it better than it seems ! Bye and thanks for your job !
.

There isn’t anything to worry about, this is simply multi-story in its primitive stage.

@Tom replies in the comments about the lack of stairs by saying:

“eventually we’ll build a stairs primitive. Right now you can build your own stairs manually with the slab tool”.

And I’m sure as the tool progresses the aesthetics of it all will improve, as will everything.

Yeah but we can also point out what bother us because if it’s what you’re doing you have to know that we are not happy with it : we want to choose what floor to use for the second story,

It’s just a piece of advice and I know I can’t say so much without having tested, moreover it’s only my opinion on the topic but I think that it’s easier to change a bad thing early than when it’s arleady done

It’s important to make your opinion known! Your opinion matters! If we don’t tell them what we whant how can they know what we like?

Worry about things not being ‘perfect’ once they tell you the game is in post-beta release state and it still has issues. Right now, there’s no point in worrying, it’s alpha, it’ll be fine xD

You can link them by deleting part of the second slab after placing the second floor’s walls…
