It’s all a learning curve! We’ll figure out the right formula hopefully for the next one,
Do you mean 5 general questions? Or 5 general questions relating to the topic?

first, i’m a doof, in that i had started that reply minutes after your own, and just now posted it (left for lunch and forgot to submit)… sigh
yes sir… 5 questions about anything SH, and 5 questions specific to Topic XYZ… reason being, it might be difficult to get more than 5 distinct (and good) questions about a given topic…
but as you said, we’ll work out the kinks as things progress… now, get back to compiling the results from last night, you!
QUESTION: Will the workbenches in Stonehearth have a 3X3 Grid like in Minecraft, and if so, can the upgraded Workbenches have an increased grid size (Workbench Lvl. 2: 4X4,Workbench Lvl. 3 = 5X5)
I go no. I’m pretty sure you just choose what to make then the guy makes it if thy’ve got the materials and tools, grids seem too micro for them.
I do not think it will be that kind of crafting; more like if you have 6 wood you can build a workbench and less of remembering crafting recipes. However there is still the option that finding recipes throughout the world might be a thing. We’ll have to see when Radiant reveals more about the crafting system.
indeed… it is one of the systems i am most looking forward to… and you’re right, we havent heard much about recipes etc, and if you look at this mockup, there is no mention of the required pieces for the item:
but we also have this quote in regards to custom crafting:
Can we, besides creating custom items, also create a custom supply
chain? For example - Custom armour made from Giant beetles which will
need to be hunted and then processed?Yes, that was one of our first design goals for the crafting system.
In fact, the trees you see in the concept video, the wood they
generate, and the fact that wood is a raw material to make the house
are all driven by the mod system. Making items which require beetle
carapaces which must be looted from giant beetles you’ve slain in the
field (or even harvested from the exoskeletons your pet beetles have
outgrown) is definitely possible.
Have you played Timber and Stone, Dwarf Fortress, or Gnomoria, I imagine the crafting is more like that.
You have to remember that Minecraft is essentially built around that first person view and playstyle, allowing for a much more micro way of dealing with things. Having that system in Stonehearth would just be too difficult and wouldn’t work.
As @twip said it seems like it’ll be more like okay, you wish to build a chair, you need a carpenter and 4 logs, then you can queue the chair to build.
Yeah, I guess you’re right…
Will furnaces be integrated into the workshop? Or are they already in the game somewhere else?
Don’t think there has been any definite word on that yet, but I’m sure there will be similar things integrated into the Blacksmith class and possibly other classes (like a baker). Once again we’ll just have to wait patiently
definitely, but for the blacksmith’s…
Speaking of furnaces, what about kilns and campfires?
