[WIP] More Professions Mod

Just a quick note to say thanks to @Sandwitch’s brilliant idea i have started to work on a new mod but i will also continue working on Brewery Mod as well.

Introducing… More Professions Mod or MPM for short

Please feel free to have a look at my Mod Road Map to see what Professions I have in mind and you can even vote and the ones with the highest votes will get done first… Public voting and commenting is turned on so you don’t have to be a member of Trello. Its still a work in progress as i have JUST started working on it but i’m very excited about it.

I’ll update with a link to the mod as soon as i have something substantial to share with you all.

I’d like to vote but I’m probably missing something: where can we read about each of these new jobs? (what they do is kind of obvious but how they interact with others jobs, how they impact the buffs, etc. would be interesting)

Love the subtitle. Also, I’m going to guess what the classes are, because why not!?

  • Giant beer mug = brewer
  • Knight helmet = knight
  • Pills = Doctor (Although, those pills don’t looks very medieval to me. plus, you’re gonna need to create diseases so a doctor is necessary.)
  • Swords = swordsman? Weaponsmith? Shield bearer?
  • Pickaxe = Miner
  • Honey thing = beekeeper. (Also, remember that when you’re making the beekeeper, be sure the beekeeper is realistic in these areas:
Getting bees: Queens might prove difficult to catch, seeing as they are constantly protected by a swarm when travelling to start a new hive.
    Honey: Different flowers= different flavors!)
  • Diamond = Lapadarist (As in someone who cuts jewels into shape.)
  • Sprout = Herbalist?

Might want to add Barbers. Aside from enabling the Mr. T lookalike hearthlings from keeping their wicked 80s awesomeness, they played the role of Surgeon back before controversial things like hand-washing and bacteria were invented :stuck_out_tongue:

If you do add doctors, can you toss in some Foxglove (Digitalis Purpurea) as a collectible herb? There’s a ton of history surrounding it (read up on Van Gogh), and purified medicinal compounds from it are still in use today

Just a super quick and short update to share a pic of the Beekeeper outfit I’m working on

Looks great, But there’s only 1 issue. When people kept bees in medieval times, they wore a hood that covered most of their head tightly everywhere except the face, where they had the net on. Also, don’t forget to do a decent amount of research on beekeeping/ medieval beekeeping before you go all silly-willy with the class!

And so, no way to know a bit more about these jobs before voting?

Huh that sound serious! Go see a doctor instead of tweaking pixels!!

yeah it’s not great… But I have an appointment on Wednesday to see a cardiologist so fiddling with pixels takes my mind off of it lol I just do as much as my body will let me so modding is on a go slow at the moment lol

get well soon my friend!

also, good looking beekeeper model!

Huhu! I hope that’s not as bad as it sounds! Now if you need some real rest, careful with screens, they are not ideal for the good balance of your system, specially at night!

Concerning the beekeeper, the first one is more SH-ish despite it could use the net style of the second model.

Yeah I’ve been limiting my screen time quite a bit and everything else I do… I’m so bored lol!
Fingers crossed its not that bad… I’ll find out soon enough

In the meantime though I re-did the first beekeeper model with the front net like in the second model…
I do like the feel of the first one and agree it’s more SH-ish ive just got to find the fine line between realism and SH…

Here’s the one I just re-did… it still needs some shading etc but I’m trying to focus on getting the shapes right and making sure that all the different heads in the game will fit, so far all heads fit but that’s why the second one is a funky shape…

As always I appreciate all the constructive feedback and anything that you guys/gals think of please feel free to let me know

P.s Thank you for the well wishes too! :relaxed:

To be honest Kurohito your bee suit is pretty good as it is, I have one, a bee suit that is, almost all bee suits are a solid white tip to ankles, never wore a belt myself but still looks really good, all he needs now is a smoker.

Thank you @Unatan2, I left the belt for a number of reasons mostly to break up the pure white, it kind of looked like a baby romper without it lol and also to fit in with most other SH outfits which also have belts…

I’ve done a quick model of the workbench for the beekeeper which is where he or she will take the resources gathered from the hives/apiaries… I added a smoker to the table although it looks more like a teapot haha. But the beekeeper will definitely have a smoker as a talisman! im thinking of adding a cube-emitter for smoke to come from the smoker as either an idle effect or a work effect also…

Herbalist and Apothecary are virtually the same thing.
Jeweller and Gemcutter are virtually the same thing.

Watchmen, Captain of the Guard, and currently existing Soldiers are virtually the same thing.
