WAY Too Much Gold!

So I started a new game upon the latest unstable release, made my way through the new town progression and was having a great time when I hit my inventory limit, and then shortly after the entire game started slowing down.

Investigating, I found that the various new town buff progression things such as the Banner of Cunning and the Stump Hearth, combined with my own extreme gold acquiring ways had resulted in a gold pile so big my hearthlings couldn’t shift it all.

It had amassed to over 4 million gold.

Buying every item from every merchant and never selling a thing couldn’t hope to deplete it enough. My hearthlings stopped farming as the inventory limit wasn’t just hit, it was disintegrated. They had nowhere to store food. They slowly starved as they frantically and futilely tried shifting my endlessly growing piles of coins into storage. The entire game slowed to the point of unplayability due to the amount of gold lying around on the ground being rendered. I eventually had to force quit the entire game because of my endless unending wealth.

As game breakers go, this one was pretty darn awesome.

Did you try to build a ton of vaults to store it all in? or does that not reduce gold’s effect on item limit?

Couldn’t find out - game had slowed too much. But I’m fairly certain items in containers still count towards the limit regardless.

ahahaha sorry but the way you described your hungry hearthlings kinda dying of hunger on top of evergrowing piles of goldcoins, give some “food” for a thought

I am sure that this bug will be fixed ASAP.

at least the died with rich lives, right?

I can’t help but think of King Midas in this.

At least they died spectacularly - buried in massive piles of wealth!
