Sorry if this is a dumb question, but why can I not switch from x32 build to x64? I have a x64 OS, but when I try to switch from x32 to x64 the game doesn’t open, then when I change it back manually through the user_settings.json file, it works fine.
Side note: I also cannot save more than once, it allows me to manually save or let the system automatically save only once, then it does not let me create a new save or override an existing one.
sadly there are currently problems with the 64-bit version, it is known to be the cause of many crashes, failed startups, etc. TR is working on fixing all these problems, so just be patient and hold in there.
I have windows 10 home x64
Not sure if I have the SP1
I have tried to save with autosave off, it just flashes the “saving…” icon for like .5 of a second and doesn’t save the game.
I’ve done all of the suggested, I’ve swapped from overriding saves to just creating new saves, that lets me save like six times, but then it does the same thing.
I’ve ran in compatibility mode for win 7, 8, xp, and vista, none of which let me run the game in x64 bit, even though I have win 10 x64.
Try loading the game in x64 and then uploading your stonehearth.log file for a dev to check out (found in your stonehearth folder -> steam / steamapps / common / stonehearth / stonehearth.log)
when you dont know who to page, you can always “play it safe” and page a moderator, that way we can page the wrong correct dev for you
also, i guess my earlier comment was overlooked, as at this point 64-bit is having problems, so for now if the game wont launch in 64, you have to run it with 32.
this is a known problem and i’m sure TR is trying to fix it.
This error indicates something is blocking the ports on your system. We’ve seen it with Norton 360, but it could potentially be any firewall or security software on the system.
In one case, it was also a network adapter configuration error. @Froggy had a solution to that on this thread:
Do you know which firewall you’re using? Try disabling the whole thing and running stonehearth. If that works, then we can figure out how to allow stonehearth through it. Turn the firewall back on as soon as possible though, so you aren’t vulnerable to attacks.
On the windows firewall it says that Stonehearth is allowed, the only other anti virus/malware software I have is malwarebytes, which I don’t think has a firewall.
Some anti-malware software crashes stonehearth because we use an embedded Chrome browser in the client process. Try running Stonehearth with malwarebytes disabled and see what happens.
