The next monster for the mod is the Qurupeco! Made using 4490 Voxels, not too much more than the Villager.
Here it is in its “Singing” Mode.
Like in the Game, The Qurupeco will be able to call nearby Monsters too come to its aid, Although I’m not certain if the monsters summoned will be dependant on how large your settlement (The number of Villagers in your town, basically), or if it would be more like the Qurupeco can summon at best a Rathian whereas a Crimson Qurupeco could summon something like a Deviljho or a Brachiodios.
So I’ve been in the process of creating a Lagiacrus, the Mascot of Monster Hunter Tri using 15422 Voxels. I’ve had allot of trouble with it though, as there aren’t very many good reference pictures for it.
One thing I’ve also done is that the entire lagiacrus is Blue, whereas in the game parts of him are kind of a greenish color:
He looks rather odd in his current pose, I’m thinking he’ll look better when animated.
Any thoughts on how to make him look better? And do you think he needs the green detail? Or does he looks better with just blue?
This is pretty awesome, the Lagiacrus has got to be one of my favorite monsters in the game. Your model didn’t fully capture the beauty of the monster, but it would look awesome when rendered in a certain pose.
Well I did some work on the Lagiacrus, Changed up his colors quite a bit, and added some details.
Also, his Shell shocker will turn a bright blue when he goes into rage mode:
I did attempt to make it so that part of his tail was more of a greenish color but it just wasn’t turning out right, so he will remain Blue all across his body.
Now I want to try my hands at making Item models, but I don’t know how to properly make them into 9x9 voxel models:
Stuff like this, I may have too get a bit creative with these to make them look right in Stonehearths style.
Sometimes they attack the Village, sometimes they roam an area of the game map. The Monster that you can fight depend on how large/advanced your Village is, if your just starting the game, you may find packs of regular Jaggi roaming the landscape, but as your village developes you will start too see larger and more powerful Wyverns and Leviathans, such as the Rathalos or Lagiacrus, as you’ve seen.
The Voxel count is justified due to them appearing by themselves most of the time. The bigger ones anyways.
Sounds good.
By the voxel count I actually meant the detail level, not so much the size as you can scale them ingame anyways. With so many voxels you have a chance that it might look a bit out of place in the game. Hard to say from pictures alone. But if you like it, go ahead
I had originally planned to make the items look like the Icons from the game, but that would look a bit too weird. So I instead made the carves look like it came from the monster, Which I think looks nice.
I also intend to make the Rathalos/Rathian Rubies, and Lagia Sapphire, but I think I’ll wait until I know how they’ll make Gems in Stonehearth.
So I decided that I should focus on some of the stuff that would first be added by such a mod. So I made an Aptonoth, a large docile creature.
The Items it gives you, I may add more but it has Raw Meat and Monster Bone.
This is a list I made of stuff that I would want to add for the mod in its earliest stage:
Creatures & Monsters:
Aptonoth
Jaggi
Great Jaggi
Items:
Jaggi Scale
Jaggi Hide
Great Jaggi Hide
Great Jaggi Claw
King’s Frill
Raw Meat
Monster Bone
Armor:
Jaggi Armor
Jaggi Shield
Weapon:
Soldier’s Dagger (Jaggi Sword)
I’d want to wait until the game has a bit more content before considering making this mod. The game needs certain things added before I could go anywhere with the mod.
