[Res] Game won't start at all

So I saw that alpha 12 dev build is out and I wanted to try it out, but when I started the game I just got a black screen.
Now I don’t think I’ve played the game ever since I updated to Win10 so I thought that might be the cause, but I also tried launching it in compatibility mode and still same result.

I would love to give you more info but I don’t know how to get it. Is there a way to start the game with the debug console open? or is there a crash report somewhere I can post?

Really looking foward to playing, so I would appreciate a quick response.

hey there @AppEx213, could you perhaps provide a bit more info?

  • what are your system specs?

  • do you have Service Pack 1 installed?

  • are you playing the 32-bit or 64-bit version of the game?

try to change in the usersetting from fullscreen=true to false. on win10 are some issue with fullscreen.

also look in the stonehearh.log if you find some errors

When I start the game the cursor does change into the in-game one, but the screen stays black.

But with this Infos we can also ask @albert :wink:

@AppEx213 - The log indicates that the stonehearth.smod being used doesn’t match the executable. (The smod is from an older version of stonehearth.) Deleting the folder and reinstalling should fix the problem.

Yes, that worked. Deleted Stonehearth folder and reinstalled.
