That FAQ should probably be edited; it was written originally in 2013 long before we ever went on Steam. Doing our own in-game downloader is very, very, very far down our priority list. So as I already noted, we currently have no plans to offer Stonehearth any way other than Steam or Humble Bundle.

So is it a maybe that you might create an in game loader in the future?
Basically, no. Steam itself can manage installations and upgrades. You won’t need to do so in-game.
