Pandemic's Art and Modding Corner! Bringing Pretty Back since 2017!

first of all, welcome back!! :+1:

second, if I see this implemented in full motion in my game, I will name my (potentially conceived in the future) third child in your honor…

Ooo are these undead going to attack the villagers or the goblins? (would set just how far the grave yard is from the village), might be a karma thing for the goblins, kill a villager and their undead counterpart can’t forgive the goblins.

or attack both! that way its just a skeleton doom day

Welcome back!

Also that is AWESOME!!!

I would like too, but sadly I have no clue how to do that XD. if I figure it out I will :D.

and this scene was meant to be a smaller dioarma, but I like how it turned out and made it a scene :p, I’m probably going to do more of these I just have no idea what it’ll be I just thought a dude would be like ā€œOh shit, Henry’s coming back… shitā€ type of joke and made something to go along XD

EDIT: OH MY GOODNESS, I get watched the recording of tonight livestream and I am SO flattered! but @Tom said a few things I’d like to answer, The lights in the eyes arent on a bone, but the model itself. I took out his blue eyes and added a emittion modifier to them so they can glow, same with the lamp, hole and purple haze. It’s made in Blender and Qubicle 1 HE.

EDIT 2: So, tonight I will be releasing the finished skeleton render as well as starting the next one :stuck_out_tongue: if people can toss ideas of them out I’ll be happy to make them along with @Avairian Pandemic Custom Tailored display pic (Which more will be available as I make them, customs will be required to discussed).

It would be cool to see a Titan…

I really wish I could do a titan, but seeing as though the only one we have is the Ent (which i think is cool but not enough material to make a render for) I don’t feel it’d be successful without more info

Maybe in honor of the conflict update a footman/goblin crossing swords?

Sounds good enough to me :stuck_out_tongue:

EDIT: UPDATE: Finished the render, now available for download on Post 1. Updated post #1 to explain the renders.

Teaser for the next one :stuck_out_tongue:

I feel like I’m going to enjoy making this one cause as tom said the goblins are full of themselves so I get to exercise alot of my funny ideas and some from other people in this one. I’m hoping it features alot revolving around the Goblin Camps in this one.

First of all, Awesome work! you’re really good at this, and keep up the good work!

And secondly, may i ask for some help?
I use Blender, and i think i heard you do as well.

i want to make a teaser like thing with the Mythical creaturs rather then just posting and saying ā€˜this is it’ and i also have some side projects with the stuff i make

1: how do you export the Obj file so… Clean?
i always have a weird shading with the texture.
i use QC and i need your help

2: how do you get Blender to render far things?(the camera seems ti have a limited range)

3: special effects?
like a slightly/very reflective surface like glass or water, shining/illuminating objects and translucent objects

I know it’s a lot of questions, but i do need some help as a self taught… blender user?

  1. I’m not the person who figured this out, go over to Voxel Pirates ā€œModel to Animationā€ series on his youtube, the rendering episode will show you how I render, if you watch the whole thing than it’ll be very helpful.

  2. The first render (Skeleton) isn’t very big. I have a background in graphic design and film I know how to make it work but in a nutshell the tilled dirt, tree and wall in the first one have a good amount of distance to the point to not touching even remotely. Clever camera work is important, its all in how you move and scale objects within the camera frame. Use Number pad 0 and it’ll show you what your camera can see, it’s helpful to know.

  3. The special effects I use are all based on youtube based tutorials and personal exploration from what I learned there. The eyes on the skeleton is just creative material properties. You can find most answers to Blender on youtube, I know this because I still do it when I get stuck. I suggest sitting down and watching BlenderCookies rendering, lighting and materials videos, some very good information. As far as special effects goes, it depends on the render sequence you use. I use Blender Render but there are 2 others and all 3 have very different methods of doing certain things.

Ultimately it comes down to knowing what you want to do, and what your looking for how to make it work. Youtube and other sites like Polycount can help you a lot.

As far as your Mythical Creatures mod, I’m familiar with it. I’m actually experimenting with modelling concepts and animations around your mermaid design and have some promising ideas for you. If these blobs of text dont help you, feel free to find me on steam (pandemic or PandemicTyler) and shoot me some messages. I help a good amount of modders with their concepts and execution of ideas and I’d be glad to help in anyway I can.

apologies, I posted your link (as I knew Tom would think it was ā€œsicā€), but wasn’t able to provide any further details on how you had crafted the scene…

cant wait to see what you come up with on the goblin render!

i’ll be watching more of his suff later on

You have ideas on… the mermaid? or the form?
I’m interested, let me know!

and also, do you know how to load the .obj files Texture in Cycler (is that the render engin name?)

i could look up the Tutorials, so don’t venture out if you don’t know, i’m just asking just in case you know
