Purely for the purposes of inspiration. Here is the preview faction list for a very successful LOTR mod. Has ideas for units and such could help with compiling a list

If people are modelling try and make a basic female/male model plus a worker/carpenter set. That’s all we can really use at the moment, Stonehearth clearly isn’t built around the combat though and it would be best if we could make the races reflect that. So then the question for you, how do the races affect gameplay outside of combat classes? It’s a lot harder for that than just coming up with better kinds of swords/armour. Multi-race factions will require a bit of work in the code as well to get working.
Yes and that would most likely be added a little bit down the road (once the game has more stuff)
Well it could be a number of things (hard to say since we don’t know how the game will develope) like Dwarfs could have some sort of a crafting boost, Hobbits could get more out of their crops (harvest bonus), Orc set up traps ?
Elves, looooong live (if there is aging in the game)
and well… that all i can think of now
just woke up…
multi race not hard, just make the males orcs and the females trolls
the town in rohan is edoras
That’s kinda cheating though, plus it lacks support for more than two races. I can see how you’d do races fairly easily though, it would just take tweaking to get good.
In my opinion it’s definitely a must that a faction system is made. The whole mod is about the different factions/races in the Third Age, so a working faction system would be nice.
I’ll try and get some unit trees and special units ready tonight. If anybody wants me to add a certain unit tot the sheet, please tell me.
Fantastic, and a good point
All we’d have to do is allow for factions to have multiple races is add some kind of race attributes for them and plug it in. It would be harder to figure out the role of each race and why on earth they’re building a village together than to implement it. I might take a crack at it later.
wouldn’t it be possible (wild guess here though) to make at faction int the population folder wich would just be named middle earth or somethings for example and have them consist of multiple male and female entities
and possibly when the more of the game has been fleshed out and the feature to pick a kingdom then add races to choose from
or as an alternative untill then make sort of a “workbench” wich places entities (people) to the world
No serious thought went into that last part constuction wise
just a thought or idea
Races are already in there. All we have to do is add support for multiple races to factions. I’ll create something later to show what I mean but it should be pretty easy.
Yeah in the faction files its says what the consist of like male_1 male_3 etc…
I was talking about that though you might understand this better then I do

[/quote] Looking forwards to it
It might be easier to put the units (the ones in the unit sheet) in factions, instead of dividing everything by race. That way it would be easy and straight-forward to give faction-specific bonuses, instead of racial bonuses. Also, a faction mostly contains units from a single race, with the exception of a few units like hobbits.
This way we can just add a specific bonus to each faction, for example:
Rohan - ‘Stables of Rohan’ - Cavalry trains 20% faster
Dwarves - ‘Masters of Stone’ - 25% faster mining
Etc.
This seems like a really easy way to make every faction special, and won’t be much of a hassle at the same time.
Just my 2 cents!
that is a good point but it will mostlikely come down to what is best to do in a modding aspect of things though this seems no harder
thumbs up
Btw gonna buy qubicle later should i get the home edition or stonhearth (since it does not have obj export for animation )
I would love to be apart of this. Never have had the cchance to get into modding but I love this idea. I’ll start working on some models and like of gameplay mechanics. I don’t know much about coding just yet but I am currently enrolled in school for programming.
Good you like this, This is also my first time modding I do understand a bit of coding and can read most of it enough
Wish there was a programming school in my town
Looking forward to see what you come up with
Thanks for the assistance. couldn’t remember it for the life of me
Worked on the unit tree today. It’s still a bit complicated, and not really clear to see what turns into what. I’ll add some hierarchy graphs later on.

If I messed something up or forgot a certain unit, please inform me!
@LegendHoods nice work you have put a lot of work into this i can see.
I **Promise ** this weekend i will do something, I have been busy with school starting but. Like I said this weekend some progress will be made !
looks very promising thus far. Good work on the list. I agree with the units you have chosen. Not sure i 100% agree with the upgrade path though. But that’s just one or two units IMO should upgrade differently. I do want to see the hierarchy graph. that might make it easier to understand your vision.
