i havent tested the builder branch since the release of the mp branch :wink: but could you also look into the remove options? because at the moment we can only remove complete layers instead of just one false voxel ^^ thx :smiley:

Use the hole tool instead of the eraser

@jamiltron at the moment if you use the erase tool you can only delete all combined voxels not some specific - pic:

i could only deleate all not the one on the right side which is to much. yes i could use undo - but if many people work on a building (like in MP) undo is not possible because i would undo the changes from the other players.

@BrunoSupremo thats a great solution for this^^ but i think not everyone would get this idea (like me) - so perhaps there should be two erasertools - one for singlevoxel and one for combined voxels

The hole tool is the single-voxel eraser tool.

I’m not even sure why you would say it doesn’t remove single voxels well: I use it literally thousands of time for for palisade walls…, cutting one high holes every other voel so it looks spikey…

yes the hole tool works very fine for this - after brunos info i tried it xD

But i think there should be a change in the ui - because not everyone will use the holetool as an eraser or just get the idea to use it for this ^^ (for example i know 7 people who has complained to me that there is no singlevoxel eraser xD)

so perhaps just make an second eraser icon (with a little voxel in front?) in the topbar which links to the holetool and this issue should be resolved ^^

to be fair my girlfriend also tried to use the current eraser at the top to remove a stray voxel and blew up half her building with it untill i told her to use the hole tool…

Adding to that, my girlfriend asked me if she needed to cut holes for doors and windows before placing them. And on Steam there was one guy (I think you answered him, but just for the record here) who thought the hole tool holes are just cosmetic.

Maybe the voxel hole tool icon should have a little voxel being removed from a bigger piece, like that defrag icon image

I’d help if the big eraser icon at the top wasn’t an erasor. Because it doesn’t so much erase as EXPLODE things.

Yeah, I think the “eraser” should be a big red :x: or something instead.

On another topic: is there any way to drag out blocks in line with the floor? The tool drags vertically when you place it on the side of blocks, so I’ve had to drag out each individual row whenever I try to fill part of a floor hole back in.

You can do one row, then select it and stretch to fill the desired area

Hell you can do One block, select the side it has to go, stretch that, then select the entire side of that line and stretch that…

Definitely a “matter of opinion” situation, as the mod I made to add more colours is still reigning champ for most downloaded of my mods.

That being said, I’m working on an update for it at the moment, and it probably wouldn’t take much to make an inverse to it - a “Just Building” mod that strips down the colors. What would be your ideal, @Chymor?

What I would really like to see is more textured patterns. Even the old ones are gone. Though I think I read they would be back.

Textured patterns? Forgive me, could you direct me to one - screenshot or the like? I can’t recall them offhand, unless you mean the wall and floor ones (which I thought I recalled seeing in the new builder)
