My LUA cranked up and won't come down

I was playing fine for 4 hours, then all of a sudden the LUA cranks up to 100% and stays there…

Here’s a few things that come to mind when things bog down:

Are there enemies trying to reach your Hearthlings but can’t?
Have you paused to let the game catch up?
Have you tried turning down the number of rendered lights/shadows?

There are enemies trying to reach, like a gazillion and I am in no way ready to fight them.
I didn’t pause, I thought it was the map that was done, just deleted it, created another.
The shadows and lights are at 0 anyways:p

Not sure if it helps but I also noticed my LUA go crazy after I had mined out an area connected to water and the water seemed “stuck” and wasn’t properly flowing. I corrected it by building a small wall where the odd water differential area was and then deleted it. The water levels equalized and the LUA issue went away almost immediately.

There are some upcoming patches to water that will improve this a lot.

If you have enemies out there and they can’t path to your town that can cause lua slowdown. Try using debugtools to get rid of them. Don’t worry, more will come!

Hey Sdee! Appreciate the quick answer.
Can you explain to me what the debug tools are, how to use them, where to find them?

When you’re on the front screen, go to settings, and then to the mod manager. Turn on the mod that says “debugtools”. When you next load the save, shift-click on the monsters and use the popup menu to nuke them. There are a lot of other powerful toys in there; have fun!
