My game don't start (Graphics Driver Issue)

Hello, I don’t speak English very well, so, forgive me

My game does not start any more since I installed the last update of my CG, Radeon Crimson 16.1.1

I try to launch the game, but nothing happens on my screen, my friends can see me in game (on steam friends) for 2-4 sec.

I tried the support’s solution : SP1 installed, Drivers OK, tried to edit user_settings etc. Nothing workd

My configuration :

Intel® i7-3610QM 4x2
17.3" FullHD 1920x1080
AMD Radeon 7970M 2Go
DDR3 Sodimm 8Go 1600Mhz

Before this **** update I played 3 hours, and I love this game !
I hope that you go to be able to help me.

I’ll be patient, see you soon :slightly_smiling:

Let’s see… Did you try to reinstall the previous update of your Graphic Card ?
Otherwise I won’t be able to help you here.

Before this problem, I has and old version, with CCC (catalyst control center). I think the game can work if I install the old-old-old version… But I want to keep the new driver, better performances on my other games :slightly_smiling:

I don’t know why it is stuck… Maybe your GC version is not compatible yet.
We’ll need your assistance, @moderators!

Try to delete your video card drivers COMPLETELY.
Delete even the control center.

And then make a clear new installation of your driver.

Then deinstall Stonehearth and install it new.

If this does not help.
Go into the properties of StoneHearth in steam and activate the latest beta version, this might help.

Yesterday, I formated my computer. New start, all clean, new drivers, game installed freshly.
I tried to activate the latest beta version, still not working.

um… have you tried reinstalling the game? Always a possibility! It could just be that that new installation of the game on your updated pc didn’t go correctly. Just try reinstalling the game!

The game didn’t go correctly before the new installation yesterday ^^

I am (re)(re)(re)(re)downloading the game right now after uninstall and delete all game’s files in /steamapps.

Still not working :disappointed_relieved:

NOOOOOOOO! :’( I’m stuck for ideas sorry!

hey there @snol, welcome to the discourse

when you re-installed the game did you do a clean install or just let steam delete it?

if the latter i recommend doing a clean install, because Steam doesnt always delete all the files, which can cause crashes and mess up the games download.

a clean install just means manually deleting the entire stonehearth folder, which should be found under this file path,

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Stonehearth

once deleted just open up steam and re-install.

hope that helps.

Hey @8BitCrab , thanks you

I let steam delete it, then I cleaned manually the folder. I don’t let steam work alone, he is a bad worker :yum:

Thanks you for answer, but that don’t help.

alright, could you start up the game, then after it crashes go into the stonehearth folder, same file path as before, and upload your crash.dmp and stonehearth.log files, those could help determine the cause of the crash.

Here they are

crash.dmp (88.6 KB)

stonehearth.log (3.4 KB)

alright, the stonehearth.log didnt provide anything obvious to me, and i cant actually check out the crash.dmp, so im going to page @Albert.

The game is crashing in the Intel video drivers. I would try:

  1. Configure the AMD Catalyst Control Center to use the AMD chipset for stonehearth.exe instead of the Intel chipset.

  2. Update your Intel drivers from here:
    Intel® Driver and Support Assistant

  3. Double check you have the latest AMD drivers from here:
    Download Drivers

  4. You could also try testing with an external monitor. That usually forces the system to use the discrete graphics chip instead of the integrated one.

@Albert

I don’t understand where was the problem, I stopped my tries.

New drivers (Crimson) deleted then install old drivers (AMD CCC 14.xx)

Now it works fine and I’m happy to play again at this game.

I would want to thank you for your fast answers and your help, you are a great team!
