Every other class gets some kind of upgrade: Farmer to cook. Herbalist to cleric. Footsoldier to Knight/Archer.
But the carpenter gets no love. He’s stuck with just sawing wood into pretty shapes.
So my idea for the Forester, whether it’s feasible or not, would be someone who would have a zone like trappers and shepherds. Within this zone, the forester would automatically plant tree seeds/saplings and then automatically harvest them once matured or they would automatically be set to harvest by workers. The amount of wood could be regulated by the size of the zone(s).
I was thinking that level progression could involve profession bonuses such as increased movement speed (because they know their little corner of the forest) and maybe a 10% bonus to how much they harvest from trees.
The talisman representation for the Forester would be an iron axe crafted by the blacksmith. 1 iron + 1 log. Maybe craftable at level 2 or 3. It’d be easier to make an axe head than it would be a steel saw blade because there’d be less details.
So, that’s the idea. I appreciate anyone who takes the time to read this, even if it’s not possible.
Thanks,
~Spell.
