Played several games now and I’ve noticed that my Shelter score pretty much stays at “5” the entire time. Is it currently in-use? And if so, what actually affects it?

Mine has increased with the more buildings in my village. Essentially if your hearthlings have a building to sleep in and eat in it should increase.

along with what @Dracorexion said, if you have more beds it should up it.

Placed beds, that is. Beds in stockpiles won’t count.

Interesting. I’ve got 12 Hearthlings my village currently and 14 placed beds, but no movement. What’s the ratio of Hearthlings-to-Beds you guys have.
Are the beds in buildings? I’m not 100% sure but I think whether a roof is above the bed is calculated. I remember Sdee saying something about it.

20 comfy beds in modified sleeping quarters for 14 hearthlings in my game. Having actual buildings should greatly increase your shelter.
Right. I’m building the pre-fab buildings, so I have 2 of the common sleeping buildings (4 beds each), 4 tiny cottages (1 bed each) and a few 2-person cottages.
A couple have comfy beds (though not all). Do I just need to be designing my own buildings?
No it should go up with all those vuildings. You may need to wait till they actually go and sleep in them

I have. It’s been 3 or 4 days with this set-up. No change. Just stays at 5.
Happiness and Food are going up, but shelter score doesn’t budge (it actually starts low-ish, at around 4, but it caps out at 5 and never moves from that spot).

What’s the color of the face next to shelter?

It’s green, as is my Happiness. Food is my highest score and is Yellow.

well i just checked my last game, i had a rather large town, and all comfy beds etc, the shelter was still at 5, so im going to say that it cant.
Oh, welp, guess I need to get my eyes checked

That makes me feel a lot better! I guess just a system without full implementation yet. Loving everything so far.
