I have a question about house colors when building

I have a question about house colors when building with different materials. What makes the wall corners different colors? I used the house icon to build them and not the slabs or other things to the right of the house icon. All have clay windows and doors.

For example this first house was built with white clay floor, blue stone walls, and blue stone roof.

This second house was built with wood checkered floor, clay red walls, and blue stone roof. The wall corners are brown which is hard to see in the screenshot.

The next two houses were, both with checkered wood floor, one with blue stone walls, one with red clay walls, and both had white clay roofs.

So what changes the wall corner colors?

You can change color of walls by clicking on them and looking for the desired color before or after placing them

Hi,
The wall corner colors are “columns.” You can change the color of columns separately from walls by scrolling down in the color palette UI (the top of the panel shows wall color and the bottom shows column color). It’s … not the best UI. Hopefully that will be more intuitive in a future UI redesign. Apologies!

Thank you! You’re both very helpful! Now I can make my houses different colors.

I just tired it. It hard locks the game and I have to turn off my computer to get out of it. It works for the first few clicks but if I keep messing with it, my game will lock up. The only way to fix it is to turn off the computer and turn it back on.

I think I’ll wait for a more stable game version before I start messing around with the color palette.

That doesn’t sound right. Do you have a crash.dmp that matches the time of the lock up?
