Extreme slowdown? - renderer.mob | failed to set transform on node

I can’t quite put a title on this as I don’t know much about it, but I’ll try and summarise it as best I can:

Summary: Gameplay speed dropped significantly after 45-60 mins of play time, UI was sluggish and unresponsive, my laptop was chugging away like the little engine that could. I have a suspicion that this bug was related to weird hearthling behaviour that seemingly started after I set a maintain 10 chairs order - there were 3-5 of them crowding one small wooden box, doing something. Box was full with 8 chairs (mix of fine and regular).

I had to close the game because it quickly became unplayable. My stonehearth.log was 12MB (attached below)

Steps to reproduce:

  • Unknown!

I’ve attached my autosave as well, let me know if I’ve done it correctly / if you need any other files from the save folder.

Pic:

This pic doesn’t do my suspicions justice - I was getting maybe 1fps at this point, but when I tried taking it there were possibly 5 overlapped hearthlings standing on that spot, fiddling with the highlighted box.

Notes:

  • Sorry about the lack of info, the game was too slow to let me do much!

  • I was getting strange behaviour from my trapper as well:

She was dropping all her loot randomly, even after I placed a stockpile nearby. Getting rid of her trapping zones didn’t fix the issue.

  • I ended up alt-f4ing as the UI wasn’t responding well / was extremely slow. My computer remained slow even 5 minutes after quitting so I eventually rebooted. - Related to this bug? I haven’t a clue.

The good stuff:

Autosave file: client_state.bin.txt (41.4 KB)

SH Log: stonehearth.log - Google Drive

Hope this helps!

@phector2004, throughout this game, did you get any error messages while playing? Have you enabled the new pathfinder in or cppai in experimental settings?

This sounds to me like a manifestation of the idle hearthling issue: [Dev Blog] IDLE MUSINGS.

Nah I haven’t been really up to date on my stonehearth, too much work lately!
I’ll give it a try though.

IIRC I may have ignored an error message. Not sure if it was with this game or my earlier one. It came up when I sold 10x fine chairs to a merchant when I had only 5… Didn’t look into it as I was eager to build stuff, though it might be worth someone trying to reproduce.
