I sadly won’t be able to make the competition, I’ve been so bombarded with work, over 50 hours a week. So I probably won’t be able to build anything big till late August. Sorry about that, However you’ve got some promising starts here from people!
Good luck everyone! I can see some good builds coming from this soon!
Based on seeing all of the more well-known folks on the fourms, and Kythandra’s beautiful build, my hopes have been set even higher for the contest. I will be hosting more in the future, but this is the only one for now. May the best of the quickest builders win!
I think by now at least some people have things done. But your right, which is why I’ll probably create another jules-verne inspired building contest later, and by later I mean right after a late alpha/early beta release. (20,000 leagues under the sea anyone?)
Less than a week until we hit the deadline! Thanks to what Artalane pointed out, though, a majority of my contest held in the future will be more oriented towards qubicle/fan-art stuff.
By the way, here’s preview of the next contest!
Well, it looks like I’m out. Alpha 11 is being far too unstable for me. My carpenters keep going idle, and my buildings don’t get finished, and my people starve when extra food is available
I’m still going…but it’s going to be really close to the deadline for me. We’re visiting some friends in Indiana this weekend and going to Lake Michigan, and I’m planning on bringing my laptop with me…
So far, it seems like things are working, but I have no idea if the concept I have will hold out long enough to see completion, especially before 80 game days pass with the current rate of work!
Welp folks, the deadline grows near. If enough of you need a bit more time because of things going on in your life, I could extend the contest, but personally, I kinda wanna move on to the next one, since it doesn’t actually involve playing stonehearth itself. OOPS! Kinda spoiled a bit there! Well, never mind. Anyway, here’s another preview of the next contest:
Welp folks, tommorow is the deadline! Honestly, I doubt many people will be able to submit an entry by this point, but, we can see! Also, look foward to my next contest, which will have a much closer deadline to it’s start this time, and also not be a build contest so we don’t lose any contesetants this time!
Sorry, my submission got heavily hindered with my connection dying recently. I’ve actually got a submission still, but it definitely could be late by a day or two. I leave it up to you and everyone else if you’d all like to wait for it, or if I should just stash the idea for a later contest. It does fit well with the “craft a world” concept, though…
I’m totally fine with postponing the contest deadline, if it means I’ll get more participants than 2 or 3! Does anybody else favor postponing the contest deadline?
Actually… finally getting to sit down and look at it again last night, I’m not really sure how much longer this particular build would take to finish. It’s kind of unfortunate, but I think I’ll withdraw my submission this time around and save the idea for a later time. I’d rather we start looking into the next contest, since we don’t know when we might be getting a new update anyway.
(Sorry, I tried to post about this yesterday, but I had tons of computer/connection issues and I couldn’t reach the Discourse!)
I’m totally okay with that, but be warned, this is the only build contest I’ll be having for a while, and I don’t see many other build contest around here, either. Just sayin’…
I’ll keep trying, of course. There’s been some trouble due to using crates, but I might be able to get around some of it in another save. I just don’t want to keep everyone waiting, only to say “Sorry guys, the build went wonky before I got it to a decent enough state to show it off. Never mind!” But if you’re okay with a little gamble, I’ll keep at it. Here’s hoping there’s not an update this week!
I will extend the due date to friday, since your probably not the only one in a situation like this, but I guess that I’ll start judging any submission that comes in anyway.
