Summary:
The last few builds I have noticed the game seems to run a little smoother, the hearthlings walk without a stutter and the camera moves quite fluidly. However whenever I go to build any sized building or lay out a mining area that is more than the normal 4x4 block the game starts to lag horrendously.
Wathing the status bar on the bottom right of the screen Lua seems to be bouncing between 50-90 most of the time while lua c seems to be hovering between 35-55.
Steps to reproduce:
Start the Game
Harvest a few starting recources
3)Try to mine or start constructing a building.
Expected Results:
Game might slow a little
Actual Results:
Game lags a lottttt

Game right after starting up and playing (numbers fluctuate quite a bit so its hard to catch them being high)
The whole game is so laggy for me that it’s unplayable (32bit AMD - 64bit still crashes on start). Release notes mention:
We’re still trying to track down one bug for Alpha 9, where the game
runs at a really slow framerate right at startup. If you can reproduce
this bug and have any info for us, please respond in the comments.
I feel like I’m repeating myself 50 times, but we don’t really get any acknowledgement from the devs one way or the other. Since last build the lag has been so bad I haven’t been able to play on my AMD machine.

well, i know what you mean and what they’re trying to find os something different, that bugg was mainly on startup once you got the game running it cleared out and started working normally.
In my case the lua skyrockets once you get a decent village going.
I’ve been trying to contact you on the Discourse and on Discus, but haven’t heard back from you. I can try to help you if you can attach a link to your user_settings.json and stonehearth.log files, but without those there’s not much I can do.
This sounds like my issue also (except now for R210). I don’t know if the generally fairly low framerate (variably 10–30 throughout; lower as the game progressed) is visible in the attached video, but there are some microfreezes probably caused by the same or similar issues visible, for example around 51:49, and clearly visible when looking at the fire between 53:02 and 53:16.
I’m having the exact same issue. Where previously I have had it stop every 5 seconds or so, it’s doing that every second now. I’m both mining and building currently. My Hearthlings need their place to sleep, and their cool underground storage facility!
Steps to reproduce:
Playing the game, apparently.
Otherwise, I think this is an amazing game, and even though it’s still in alpha, I find myself enjoying it immensely.

Thanks!
EDIT: Now, it’s stopping every 0.5 seconds for about 7 seconds each time.
EDIT #2: It seems to be a little better now. The only thing that’s really changed is it’s now night time in-game. It’s still super laggy, though not as terrible as it was before.
Thats exactly what it is doing to me. Now it is immediately when I start the game and every 2 seconds for 1 segond lag. I love this game its amazing but we really need this bug to be repaired
