Footman at low heath, cleric not healing
Version Number and Mods in use:
release -699 (x64) (steam)
No mods
System Information:

hey there @superjes1,

hmm… is that attack order set on the wolf, or on the ground? if it’s on the wolf itself, it might be messing up the clerics AI for some reason, try clearing the attack order and see if that fixes the problem.

It was set on the wolf, but i canceled the clerics fighting order as i thought of that to, and after i cheat killed it, the cleric still didn’t heal the footman

This is a recent bug and happens really randomly.
Nobody has found exacts steps to reproduce it yet (if anyone does, please ping me).

I have a save file of it, would that help? (its after i cheat killed the wolf though)

Also, ill try relogging and see if that fixes it

Ok, after re logging it fixed it self, so the save file is useless… :disappointed:

When the clerk has a herbalist, he seemed to have trouble healing people as well.
I Will test with this further for you guys

@Relyss
I think i got a save that has the glitch, how can I upload it to you??

P.S.
It doesn’t always cause the glitch, and you have relog the game before you load it up

To upload a savefile:

  1. Find the save folder for the saves you wish to upload. By default, they are located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Stonehearth\saved_games (assuming a default Steam install).
  2. Zip the folder.
  3. Right click the folder (should be a long set of numbers).
  4. Left click on Send to in the menu that appears.
  5. Left click on `Compressed (Zipped) folder).
  6. (Optional) Rename the folder to something different than the default set of numbers.
  7. Upload the save.
  8. If the zip is less than 10 MB, you can upload it here directly. Either use the upload button or drag and drop it into the compose window,
  9. If larger than 10 MB, upload it to a cloud storage site like Dropbox, Google Drive, File Dropper, etc. and post the sharing link here.

Clerk Not Healing (superjes1).zip (6.0 MB)
^ Save File ^

So you know,
The glitch doesn’t happen 100% of the time, normally i have to reload the save once or twice for it to happen,
also you need to promote the herbalist into the clerk, if he has already a clerk the glitch doesn’t happen.

I’m getting close to the same error with a regular herbalist. I’ve had a footman get injured to the point where he lays in a bed, and my herbalist will some times rather talk to other Hearthlings RIGHT NEXT TO HIM rather than heal him.

I had this in one game too.
Neither the Herbalist nor the Cleric did heal others.
I could promote and demote them nothing worked.
After saving and loading everything worked as intended.
Otherwise I would have send you the save game :frowning:

I had this at the start of my town but after reloading it fixed it for me as well. Haven’t had the bug since.

So Everyone knows, restarting your game normally fixes it

Appreciate it, but when you have to restart your game multiple times per fight, it gets old fast.

Has anyone experienced this bug again on the latest version?

Yes, Using the old bugged save that i Posted i was able to reproduce the glitch

I just got this bug last night, reloading fixed it and haven’t had an issue since.

I’ve been able to duplicate the bug fairly reliably.

The cleric getting hit is a very low chance to make it happen.

Instead, I can get it to duplicate almost 100% of the time (in my game, anyway) by telling the squad/group to attack a specific target, however, telling the cleric to move-to or defend a position, stops them from meleeing.

The bad version of it is if the target the cleric is healing gets incapacitated while they’re casting a heal. In that case, they completely stop healing and that’s when the game requires a save/load.

This might be a good repro, even if the bug happens randomly on other cases.
Thanks for the steps!

No problem, that’s just what I saw (I had three towns get overrun the last few days, so I’ve been seeing a lot of the bug). Take it with a grain of salt because combat can be chaotic, but the worst ones were when I’d be down to my last standing soldier and the cleric, and the cleric takes that moment to run up and melee instead of healing the last guy standing.
