Summary:
I’ve had the already well known “launching error” all systems running on windows 11 have been getting. I formatted my PC back in 2023 and got windows 11 with it, and when I tried re-downloading Stonehearth from Steam, whenever I tried to play the game, it would start in a black screen, music playing, but the game would not send me to the menu or, much less, open a saved game.
- I tried pressing F5 to refresh the UI, but it didn’t work.
- Tried forcing the 32bit launch (as instructed in this post: Game Won't Load/Launch On New PC *SOLVED* - #19 by 666reddog), and not only it didn’t work, now the game doesn’t even start with music, but after five minutes it crashes.
- Tried deleting the x64 folder (I know it’s a terrible fix, but I was running out of options) and the same happened. Then re-downloaded it from the “verify integrity of files” from the steam tab.
- Tried this fix (Link: Game Won't Load/Launch On New PC *SOLVED* - #34 by DaniAngione). Same happened. Game loads on black screen, no music, crashes after five minutes.
- Uninstalled, re-installed. Then tried the same fix at step 4. Game starts with music, but never fully loads. Waited for around 10 minutes and still black screen. F5 did nothing.
