Did you add the doors and windows after you had confirmed the build/ when the house was already built?
If I remember rightly, and this was present a few builds back, you had to make sure that any doodads you wanted were placed during the blueprint stage, adding them after that meant that they wouldn’t get built.

Still present in r1658. However it seems to be narrowed down for me. If i designate the whole building to be built with one particular type of wall (all plaster or all wood) the doodads are placed fine.
However if I designate different types for different walls, the doors/windows only get built on the type of wall that was originally put up.

Summary:
Previously you can select the door or windows in your stockpile and there would be the option of placing this on the building. This function seems no longer available. Therefore I attempted to go back to building design to do this. But then my villagers start doing strange things like making scaffolds over the area, and in the end neither the door nor the windows are placed on the building.
