Assertion failed help!

Summary:

Sound and music continues to play while the game is frozen; the menus are able to be opened, but remain blank; Hearthlings are frozen in time and anything else is halted. This has never happened to me before Alpha 22.5 and 23 and I’ve looked around for fixes to no avail. This happens mid-game.

You should be able to upload the log or savegame now, but typically this sort of issue is due to the water simulation hitting an edge case and getting stuck.

Which assertion failed error did you have? Was it a popup outside of the game, or inside the game?
Were you messing with mining / water when it happened?

You should be able to upload files now, so if you have the log from when it happened we can take a look at it.
