Alpha 15 Randomly closes game window without any message

Summary:

I started playing alpha 15 just today, created new save. I noticed that after 10-15 minutes into gameplay, my game crashes without any message or crash report, or even without windows message about Stonehearth.exe stopped working. First, i assumed it was random crash, so I ignored it. But after 3-4 times it repeated… well i gave up, i can’t play.

Well i can play for 10-15 minutes but i tried these steps. I have updated drivers, I don"t play in fullscreen, I tried compalibity and administrator launching.

Hey there @WilteDragon, let’s see if we can figure out what is going on. First, looking at NVIDIA’s website, it does seem like your Graphics driver is out of date. From what I can see, the GTX 760’s last update was version 364.51 released on March 8. Based on the log, you are using version 358.91 which was released on November 9. Here is a direct link to the latest drivers for the GTX 760: Drivers | GeForce. Please try running that driver update (and rebooting your computer) and try again. If you still get a crash after 10-15 minutes (or at any time), we can troubleshoot further. If not, great! Please let us know either way.

Yes, it was my bad - I have thought that my computer automatically updated them, but apparently not. So, I updated them manually, restarted computer… and it still crashes. I have also noticed that after placing building template game freezes for one-two seconds, before running again. That never happend in such early phase of game - I’m just after embarking.

I have an update.

After new release-543 game was able to work for longer, something about 30 minutes. But after planning some buildings, game minimilazed itself, this time with two messages, both named Stonehearth Assertion Failed.

First:

I couldn’t opened second message without closing first, and after that both closed with stonehearth.exe.

Update 2:
After that i tried to play again, maybe to see if that messages will return. Old crash after 10-15 minutes is back.

Update 3: It seems that after reinstalling game at steam, it runs just fine. Maybe besides weird anti-virus scanning of stonehearth, that creates five stonehearth.exe processes and unables game to start. But aborting scann or adding stonehearth.exe to the exlusions list fixed it. Thanks for help, and just hope that there won’t be any random crashes anymore.

Glad to hear a reinstall has fixed the issue. Possible that a file became corrupted…will mark resolved, feel free to post again if you encounter more issues!
