Game Crashes After Every 4 Minutes

Hey! I’ve been wanting to play this game for a while now so i went ahead and bought it on Steam. After buying it, I loaded up the game and everything was working perfectly. I could easily run it on full settings, and everything was going well. After four minutes of having the game open, the game crashed. I didn’t think much of it and reopened it. After another four minutes goes by, the game crashes again. That keeps happening until I get to the twenty minute mark and I just close out. I’ve tried reinstalling it, I’ve looked for help on YouTube and Google (how I found this), and have also tried many other things. If anyone knows how to fix this issue, please help me. I really want to play this game!

System specifications etc? Are you running a15 or the a16 branch? Does the game give an error message or just blankly crash?

Error message: Stonehearth has stopped working…
PC Specs: RAM: 12 GB, System Type: 64 bit operating system, x64 based processor, Processor: AMD FX™-8300 Eight-Core Processor 3.30GHz

What do you mean by a15 or a16, by the way?

If anyone knew about a bug as crucial as this it would probably be resolved already knowing Team Radiant, but in the meantime you could try filling of a bug report using the format shown here: Welcome to the Bug Report Category!

Also make sure to get the log file as bugs crashing the game often log an error that is critical towards solving them. See this page for how to find the log file.

a15 and a16 refers to the version, a being Alpha. Currently you can use the “stable” release which is still an Alpha, but has been out for a longer period of time and had more time to discover bugs, or you may be using “latest” release which is the bleeding edge from development with all the coolest, hippest, awesomest, did I say coolest?, features from the devs.

Currently that would be Alpha 15 and Alpha 16 :slight_smile:

Hey, I was working on the bug report but I don’t think its the right thing to be putting it on. For example, it tells me to say the steps on how to reproduce the bug. After that, it says what you thought what would happen and what actually happened.

That’s messed up. I’m running A15 with tons of MODS and that’s not happening. I hope you can figure out the problem and solve it. =(

Steps To Reproduce: I really don’t know why its happening, but its strictly in the 3 minute or 4 minute mark of starting the game up.

Two things: first, please check to ensure that your video card drivers are updated.

Second, can you post your stonehearth.log file immediately after your game crashes?
If you play on Steam, you can find stonehearth.log this way:

– Right click Stonehearth in your Steam library
– Select ‘Properties’
– Select the ‘Local Files’ tab
– Select ‘Browse Local Files’

Your stonehearth.log file will be among your local files.

If you play via Humble Bundle download, you should find it in a path like: C:\Users\YourNameHere\AppData\Local\stonehearth\stonehearth.log

Thank you very much for replying. I’m checking to see if there are any updates, and if there are then I’ll test out the game. If it works I’ll let you know, and if it doesn’t I’ll try the second step :smiley:

I’m onto the second one because all of my video card drivers were up to date. I followed your steps and I dont see a stonehearth.log. Is it the one that just says stonehearth and its notepad?

Sorry, I’m not very good with computers when it comes to this stuff :stuck_out_tongue:

That should be it! Your computer is probably set to hide the .log extension.
