New to forum cant upload

[What version of Stonehearth are you playing? Have you installed any mods?]

Latest steam build. Verified and re-installed 2 times. No mods.

System Information:

Yes. Doesn’t crash on start but turned off AV anyway to see if it made a difference. Tried compat mode windows 8, Run as admin. Window mode. Reset network etc…

You should be able to upload files now. Do you have a crash.dmp file inside C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Stonehearth ? If so, please upload it so we can take a look.

My first guess is that it’s running out of memory since you’re running in 32-bit. Are you able to run the game in 64-bit mode?

Have tried both modes, Directly from the 64 bit folder and from steam. Just had the game do an epic crash. I will send the files.crash.dmp (115.3 KB)

@Dartanien, I’m curious if Stonehearth is properly running in 64-bit mode when launched directly from the folder. Can you please try changing the following line in your user_settings.json to false, launch the game normally, and upload the resulting log and crash once it occurs?

This is what it looks like already. When I launch in 64 bit I used the .exe from the 64 bit folder. Shouldn’t the flag for 32bit false, launch it in 64 bit directly from steam? On a side note , I noticed that when the limit for items was getting full, seems to be when it starts to stutter and crash. I edited it to remove the limit and played for 5 hours straight. Some of the other crashes I have had were already reported like the ladders not being removed from blacksmith building and getting an error when trying to remove the building or engine errors out of no where (same exact errors already reported so I didn’t post them). If it crashes again, I will repost it here. I’m going to try to play with the limits back on later.

Yes it should, and that is why I am confused. If the flag in user_settings is already set to false, the game should be running in 64-bit mode, but your logs and crash dumps indicate 32-bit mode.

In case my previous post was unclear (I can see how it may be, sorry), I assumed you had force_32_bit configured to true, and was asking you to set it to false.

OK. So the “Epic Crash” you posted above is still in 32-bit mode. Can you upload logs and a dump from a 64-bit mode crash please?

I just did a test , and launching from steam even with the flag set to not use 32bit, is launching in 32 bit.

Well that’s quite odd…let’s try something else.

Please delete your entire Stonehearth folder and then reinstall Stonehearth from Steam. This should ensure there are no “strange” files and automatically regenerate your user_settings. IF you have saved games or building templates you wish to keep, be sure to copy the saved_games and/or saved_objects folders before deleting the entire Stonehearth folder.

I already did a full reinstall before posting, even changed the drive but I will try again and report back.

I noticed the full re-install in your first post, wasn’t sure if you manually deleted the Stonehearth folder.

Yep, deleted the folder. Just reinstalled after delete and empty recycle bin and it is starting in 32 bit.
