2-Zons Qubicle thread

OK, I’ve done up a model for this weeks competition, but I think I’m going to start over. I used this image as inspiration

And Here’s my Qubicle version:

I think went with too many voxels, and perhaps too realistic? Maybe the spotty fur is a bit much, better for a porcupine? Anyways, my first try. It thought I’d get some input here before I submit one.

Edit: Heres a comparison render.

Yeah, definitely too many voxels. The two things to watch out for while modeling for Stonehearth are a) don’t stress the realism and b) pick the smallest possible size to work in. Pick an aspect that you want to emphasize and then make the rest secondary (as seen in the Dragon Whelp stream)

edit: the more I look at the existing model, the more I think of a fat hedgehog. Slim it down a bit and you’ve got a nice new ambient creature.

If it was pink it’d look like a little piggy and it’s so cute and squishy looking I want it!

his face is so cute!!
try to fucos on one or two key features of the wombat and build around it (the big nose, the chubby body, etc).

OK Here’s the one I’m going to enter. Any comments before I submit it?

Still feels very hedgehog-y. I think you should try to de-accentuate the body so that there is more of a focus on the head.

My son has been watching me using Qubicle and begged me to make him his favorite game character. I eventually gave in to his pleading.

@2_Zons Nice version of the Marvin. Have you tried a version with the skirt facing downwards? Would be interesting how this looks.

Thanks for all who are following and maybe even waiting for the videos on animation. Next week I will work on the 4th part, which will finally show the first steps with Blender.

Nice pikachu I love it but maybe you should make the eyes a little less sad looking?

The eyes were the hardest part. I tried every possible configuration I could think of. This one seemed the best out of all of them.
