So to cut right to the point, I built a mine that goes nearly straight down with a long ladder and the miners wont go there? Is it too far away from them?

Hello! Well, let’s eliminate some variables first.
First, can the settlers reach the beginning of the mine? I assume they can, but that’s always the first thing to check. Also, check to see if the settlers are too busy with other things at the moment (i.e., building, moving resources, etc.) Lastly, how long has your game been going–is it new or long-going? If the little bar on the right side of the display (the bottom of the screen) is completely yellow or blue, it means the lua and pathfinder are overburdened and the Hearthlings can’t figure out a way to get there (however, they sometimes have this issue when the task in question’s simply too far away). This problem with the pathfinder is something Team Radiant is working on right now, since it severely hinders late-game saves.
(I also put the thread in the Active Bug category, until we can figure out more about it and determine the problem.)

I made ladders all the way down the mine, the shoud be able to reach it, and they’re all standing still.
It’s mostly green, the bar, but sometimes 1/4th of it is blue and 1/4th of it is yellow.
I have had recently issues with too big mining comands.
I wanted to dig out a throne room which obviusly has to be massive 
When I order the hole shape to be digged at once, they do nothing. If I ask them to dig it 30% at a time they do an awesome job.
Maybe giving a smaler order could help you.
Is two rooms with 20x20 too big?.. I’ve done that before with no trouble
if your doing both the rooms at once, then yes, but doing them one by one should be fine.
also, could you perhaps snag a screenshot of the place they wont mine?

This is the entrance to the mine note it is “64m”
And this is the 20x20 area 44m
perhaps try splitting that in half to make two separate mining operations. also, it could be a problem with pathfinding due to the entrance you made.

Be careful not to try and dig mines with an undug area in the middle like where the ladder comes down. I’ve heard that can cause problems. It’s fine if you dig on one side of the ladder at a time.
