Wineries (Cooking Suggestion)

With this week’s Desktop Tuesday, we’ve found out that we are now able to move Berry Bushes. It got me thinking that, along with beer, wine would be a neat addition to this game, giving your Hearthlings something to do around the campfire at night.
Suggestions are this:

  • Make Berry Bushes move-able (done), and also plant-able by a Farmer if that’s reasonable
  • Make a new Cooking Recipe for Wine that uses Basket of Berries
  • Limit alcoholic drinks like Beer and Wine to campfire time, so our Workers aren’t falling off the roof and Idling more than usual
  • Wine and Beer give +Morale

wed need grapes first before wine can become a thing… cant have wine without vineyards after all.

Wine can be made out of a lot of things; grapes, berries, honey, sugar.

yes but grapes are the most common method… and vineyards are like commonly associated with wine… so having wine without having grape/vineyards would seem strange.

honey could be used in the third faction for mead instead of wine (since they are like vikings ect)

saw this scrolling down the threads

There’s a journal entry about fermenting berries, so it would be reasonable for that to be in the game, if weirder than grape-based wine.

One of the classes mentioned on the Kickstarter class tree was Brewer, and storage filters have an option for drinks [with a beer mug icon] so Radiant’s definitely given brewing some thought before. I can’t say if they’re still planning on it, though.

what if I want to see my workers falling off the roof…

That would be awesome to see lol. It would certanly give a filling of real life in game.

Sadly doesn’t work fully in Alpha 13 it seems

That’s a really good idea, as it would allow a new mechanic where your hearthlings require water!

if i’m not mistaken, currently the only thing that are not working are the crops, and @Wiese2007 is currently working on fixing the bugs and giving it localization support .

thats correct and you can preload it from github ^^ the official release will be need some more time - but its works now and can be played ^^ GitHub - kurohito/brewerymod: A companion mod for Stonehearth Cafe
