What would you name your kingdom?

Sweg, that would be what I would name my kingdom.

It literally translates to “Cat-town”

I’d have to go with either Hobbiton, Imre (know the book?) or Krynn (c’mon you gotta know this one!).

Close… I like the word translate, it has late in it and I’m always late to whatever appointments I have…

But the elusive ICookie stays where it is safe and warm.

Ohh LoTR reference +1!!

Ohh, could that be a reference to Animal Crossing??

I never played that game, so no :smile_cat:

In french it’s called Hobbitebourg lol

Now that I think I’m gonna be Arith, the hanging city. I’m going to build it on a cliff face.

The bountiful coastline city known as the “Darini Tribe”

We have massive naval ships and our fishing boats overflow with the bounty of the sea.

Our breweries are some of the best in the world and we can always find a reason to throw a party. The music from our festivals can be heard from miles away and can bring a smile to even the foulest of persons face.

Our red hair isn’t as common as the black hair of the westerners, but we braid our beards with pride.

We have bread wolf with dog for ages now and have developed a very powerful companion that can tear into an orc squad with ease.

Finally, we pride ourselves on our warm hearths and hearts. Bring with yourself good intentions when coming to our home and you shall be greeted with open arms. But do not mistake our kindness for weakness. For an enemy of the Darini will find themselves at the bottom of the deep blue.

[/quote] You can’t really call something a tribe as a city, really that would be the kingdom which would still sound pretty wierd. I thing The kingdom of Darini has a better ring to it

Because I don’t know if you are American (you’re British, no?), and because there are so many Americans trapped here on these forums, I’d like to take this opportunity to ask if Narnia did ever kick off/reach you over there? It’s just I watch a lot of American TV and am fairly well exposed to American media but I don’t think I’ve ever heard it mentioned by an American or in American media. Just curious.

As for the German stuff, that’s a good point @ManOfRet. I presume since the KS was in English and that’s how everyone got here at first, and all livestreams were too, people assumed it to be an English community and after the first few points, possibly considered that it might be rude to talk in other languages. Also, a lot of the early posts were directed at the devs, who were more active at that time and would respond to them, and people would obviously want the devs to be able to understand them so they posted in the language they were sure the devs would know and be able to respond to. Then, once the KS was over, the foundations had been laid, and even though the devs became less active and topics stopped generally being directed at them, people spoke in the established language for the community.

Of course, those who speak other languages and want to talk in them are absolutely welcome to. Of course, they have to keep in mind the fact that I think 100% of the community here can and do speak English whereas that percentage may be less of other languages so there may be less response, but I’m love an opportunity to brush up/learn another language. :fr: :it: :de: :es:

And name? Smokestack City probably, or if Radiant builds in a cool name randomiser I never tend to mess with names, in Civ and stuff I leave it as is because I like the history/fanasy aspect.

Narnia was another average movie in the states, nothing more, nothing less

I shall call my kingdom ‘Gloriosum est Regnum’ (That’s latin for ‘The Glorious Kingdom’)

Narnia was a set of movies which a few children forced their parents into taking them to the movie theaters for. That’s about it over here. But the books are relatively popular compared to the movies (I think).

The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, the first in the Chronicles of Narnia series, is a massively popular book, which the movies did a fair job of adapting… i hope there are others here who have at least read the first book?

I’ve read the Silver Chair and the Horse and His Boy, and I think my parents read some of the other books to me but I can’t guarantee that and I’m fairly confident I’ve never read or had read to me the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe…I’ve seen all 3 released and apparently the Silver Chair was earlier this month confirmed to be put into production. Very much like what I can remember, however sadly that isn’t all too much…

Apologies for a slight derailment…:train:
