Viking Buildings?

Hello People

I have previous had posts where I have attempted to mimic the viking buildings. I have just created one now and wondered what you all thought and where i can improve

I think it looks good on the inside.

Here is some reference material.

I would love to build a viking town! the only bit which is letting me down is the roof. It seems to be the thing that really makes them unique

Edit: I have also started with a very basic dock :stuck_out_tongue:

The outside is very plain and boring :frowning: so any tips on improving it would be great

Been experimenting with the roofs on Stonehearth and it seems it could technically be possible to great a roof much like the Viking ones however it can’t be done just yet as im finding it very hard to create separate roofs for each part of the building.

Hopefully they will amend the roof rules so i can create a separate roof for each extension off the main building as this would then allow me to great a very Viking looking building :stuck_out_tongue:

As it appears currently if i have the main building like i have already and then manage to add a room which is the width of 7 onto the side and add a roof which only slants in one direction this would then link up with the original room looking very close to one long roof which comes down 2 levels making it look like a Viking Building

Edit: I started another map but this time i have drawing the roof myself :stuck_out_tongue: in hopes of making it look good here is my design so far

It has all failed and turned to dust :frowning:Hours wasted :frowning:

To try to get the roof i want i have to make it myself as u can see from the pictures… this means that when i change to view to remove the roof it doesnt leave as it not classed as a roof :frowning:

Edit:
All is not lost… i have used the upstairs for crates instead this way they are hidden aswell to keep the place tidy. i have also started using the rooms for the trades such as carpenter and mason.

If you haven’t already found a solution to seing the inside I would suggest:
House with only one floor:
Split the roof in two parts.
Build one first and then the other.
Then use the slice tool to eliminate the upper part and be able to see the ground floor.
To eliminate the walls/roof completely and only see the floors double click on the house icon to the lower right of the screen.
Convine both tools to have different views.

House with more that one floor, ie: ground and 1st floors (2 floors)
Split that roof in three.
Treat those roof parts as it if were the walls of each floor and build one floor at a time.

Hope this helps. Have Fun, Kyth.
