That’s sounds completely reasonable.
There’s a reason I find it hard to trust you. The marriage counsellor will be hearing about this. One too many betrayals Steve, one too many.
So you may be single soon?
The nights are gonna be getting colder soon, if ya catch ma drift.
How about holdable lanterns and such. It could light up wherever the person holding it is.
Well, Summer is ending so the knights are going to be getting colder anyway…
Just noticed @SteveAdamo liked your post. This marriage certainly won’t last much longer…
Oh please. They’re like Sienese twins.
If they ever get separated, they die.
SHHHH!!! They are not supposed to know!!!
@tom just wondering as you have made a number of things already when will we get to see them in game? I’d love to see them in by the time alpha 4 officially comes out even if its via the unstable branch
A few more ideas - some with images to explain
Carpenter
- Decking Decking + Deck with stairs
- also for an American style porch Porch
- short bar stool
- Stairway wooden outdoor stairs
- Archway pic
- archway with seat pic
- ‘Hobbit’ Door - not sure if possible with voxels
By this do you mean a door like the ones in the LotR books and films?
I’d like to suggest giving Padded Vests a different use because right now they’re outclassed by Leather Vests in almost every way seeing as it only very slightly requires more time/effort to make them while I assume they have significantly better stats.
As it stands I see no reason to make Padded Vests for my Footmen at all when Leather is just better and barely takes more effort to make, it may even be much more cost efficient because I can use the extra cloth for Worker Outfits.
Well as of the moment i’m pretty sure neither of the vests give any buff to your footman, they are purely ascetic for the moment… o.o But your right, the leaver vest is a higher tier armor than the padded vest.
One thing though is you have to remember that the trapper doesn’t fit into everyone’s play-style. So if someone doesn’t want a trapper or doesn’t upgrade on at the beginning of the game, the padded armor still has some use to them.
Carpenter
- shield!
- fence
- chest
- palisade?
- bows
- I think armor should wait for a leather maker or something, like who wears armor made of wood?
- bucket
- barrel/crate
- timber grave stone
- sign
- lamp post
- archery target
- arrows
- torch
- club
Weaver - nets for fish
- rugs
- more flag types
- items for warmth, happiness
- winter cape or something
just some thoughts
two words: mail box
(and now for a really useless sentence because of the minimum limit reqs -.-)
Who wears armor made of wood?
i made that sugestion
found it
You’re right about Trappers being one of the more optional jobs but I fail to see much reason not to have one for the leather and jerky (hopefully they’ll change it to raw meat that we can cook into different things), the leather which might be needed either way to craft items to make progress and if not that at the least I expect there’ll be quite a few neat things that’ll need leather.
I don’t think it’s right to put too much weight on the off-chance that somebody doesn’t actually want to use a trapper, I doubt they’d even be able to get very far without one once the other jobs and the job progression comes into play as well.
More in line with the thread’s purpose I’d like to suggest a couple of items.
-
Ground Torches - To replace the lanterns as early game light sources with a tiki torch model to give it some height which will let them serve as early game lamp posts as well.
-
Wall Torches - Same as ground torches where they can replace the current wall lamps for the early game.
-
Hand Torches - To be used by workers to light up their paths. Ideally they’d just be automatically crafted and used temporarily if the situation requires it the same way scaffolding works by picking up some wood and using it in a campfire if they’re going into an dark enough area but I understand doing something like this would probably require more work than a regular items so I can see why you’d pass on this.
-
Campfires - I know they’re already in the game but it would be nice to be able to craft them so we don’t have to rely on traders for something so simple.
-
Job uniforms - You probably already have plans for them but it would be nice to have more available sooner rather than later, at least something similar to Worker outfits which increase movement and production speed.
That’s it for now.
On an unrelated note, I hope we’ll be able to do some simple terrain editing in the near future because I’ve always loved the idea of building into and around generated terrain.
