Today test: interiors

I spend a few hours on r2494 to see how far I could go with some interior works. The construction itself isn’t interesting, 3 spaces on two levels, one dedicated to resting, one to eating and one for storage and production.

Despite the construction is simple, I met a bug on the 2nd floor when creating the outer walls; strangely I lose a rank of blocks but because my test here was on the interiors, that wasn’t a big deal.

A global view by night:

Not bad I guess for an Alpha release but I wonder if a whole city will be doable that way…
One thing that could be great would be to “freeze” some storage zones (avoiding hearthlings to pick stuff inside) to turn them into decorations. That would give cool details as you can see around the blacksmith and weaver workshops.

Comments are welcome!

This Idea really sounds cool, hopefully if it’s ever added you’d be able to “unfreeze” the zones as well.

one thing that could be done is make a mod for it, where 1 item = 1 decoration (say 1 iron ore = 1 iron ore decoration) this wouldnt allow for you to “unfreeze” them, but it would be cool!

perhaps even make a new “decoration crafter” class…

Finally a suitable upgrade for carpenter!
