This should be a bug, if its not

**When playing Rayya’s Children, you can’t simply switch potters, the game wants me to build a new Klin and potters wheel, this is a waste of everything!
**
Ver 729 Alpha 22 x64

Steps to reproduce:

1.Make a game of Rayya’s Children
2. create a potter
3. change them back and promote a new person to potter.
4. Just try to craft something anything they are all blocked and even if you remove the block the game puts it back, You now have a wasted Klin,

Expected Results:
Anyone one of that class should be able to use all equipment interchangably
Actual Results:
They refuse to do the work asked for.
Notes:
The reason i had to change was due to the promotion tree, I forgot you need potter exp to be promoted to a mason, so this new person won’t be a potter for very long, this makes the fact that You’ve required them to all make the starting gear a waste of material and time.

Win 10 pro x64 doesn’t matter. this is a game issue.

Could you upload the savefile where this is happening? I can’t reproduce it (promoted my potter to mason, promoted a worker to potter, and the worker/new potter continued working on the potter’s queue without any problems, reusing the existing kiln).
To do so:

  1. Find the save folder for the saves you wish to upload. By default, they are located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Stonehearth\saved_games (assuming a default Steam install).
  2. Zip the folder.
  3. Right click the folder (should be a long set of numbers).
  4. Left click on Send to in the menu that appears.
  5. Left click on `Compressed (Zipped) folder).
  6. (Optional) Rename the folder to something different than the default set of numbers.
  7. Upload the save.
  8. If the zip is less than 10 MB, you can upload it directly. Either use the upload button or drag and drop it into the compose window,
  9. If larger than 10 MB, upload it to a cloud storage site like Dropbox, Google Drive, File Dropper, etc. and post the sharing link here.

This isn’t actually a bug with the way you described. This happens with any class actually. If you give a class a job, and the ORIGINAL crafter begins doing the job, they are assigned to that job till it’s done. Even if you give multiple jobs, the primary crafter can say they’re going to do them. Once they assign themselves to that job, the second crafter can’t do it.

The only way to get the second crafter to start taking jobs is to remove the first one temporarily. That’s why @Relyss couldn’t recreate it, because she still only had one potter at a time.

If you just add new orders for the new potter, it should work? Even if the old ones are still there.

Yes. The orders that were assigned to the previous potter will still be assigned to him after promoting him to something else, you’ll need to delete them and order them again.

This issue (and other known annoyances related to how the orders are managed) will probably be worked on when we get to effort based crafting in a few alphas.

This is VERY hit or miss. Some workers can take multiple orders up, and when this happens, it isn’t till the 4th or 5th new order that the second craftsman takes over.

This is when there is more than one crafter of the same type, right? I guess “maintain” orders might make it worse, yes

Okay I’m really sorry I posted this I totally get the Dum award for 2017. sigh I didn’t have enough clay to make even one bed I’m sorry this was posted in error. Once I got the clay he did as requested. I had been mining and stripping for clay, so I thought I had enough.

bug report was filed in error, I never check for clay, I had been mining
