Engage Creativity. A New block or Work station will be added and needs to be placed to be able to use this feature, a new profession is needed. a Name like Blueprinter or such like.its work station is the Blueprint Table and is pretty big. now the way to use the Deco Crafter is first to select the table and then proceed to select a template. Templates are organised into their type (Chair, Table, Light source). in the Type Categories are pre-made templates that are in the game (Dining Table, Stone Table) and your own templates that you have made, along with the ability to start from scratch. NOTE: the Type you selected determines what type of Deco you will make (Chair Type, you will need to make a chair).
(you can make all types of Deco ranging from camp fires to fences to tables and chairs)
THERE IS A LIMIT TO HOW BIG YOU CAN BUILD The Devs can decide that.
The Materials are organised into categories:
Wood
Stone
Metal
Cloth
Special
All Materials are taken into account If you use wood and Stone wood and Stone are needed.
Wood: Wooden types of building. they have do have the same colours that buildings do.
Stone: Like the Wood
Metal: Metallic Building, Available building colours are all ingots. Ingots are needed in the crafting.
Cloth: Cloth Building, Comes in all colours including darker and lighter colours.
Special: Special parts, these include:
Set Space for Citizens to sit, ONLY ONE CITIZEN CAN SIT IN IT
Light Spot, Where light Comes from, has an effect like the lamps. shows a full block.
Fire Point. fire is created from that point, many are needed to create a nice effect.
Night Fire Block only makes fire when night.
Camp fire point: a log is needed for the fire to show.
(Tell me more things in a reply)
Once done creating and pressing the “create” Button, the “blueprinter” will create the blueprint, before he/she does though you choose the station it is made at dependent of the materials you used.
Almost 3 years later, I stumble across this and… I agree! This would add a whole new level of customization to the furniture in Stonehearth. However, I don’t think the devs have the time or focus to do anything like this, so, maybe a mod? The main issue I can see with this is that there’s no way to incorporate appeal into the item, but my suggestion is perhaps to spend gold flakes or something to raise the appeal
I think this would be great for people who really like to get in depth with customization of their town, though!
I don’t think it should require a specific profession to design new things in this way. It could be a stand alone modding program or a designer that you access from the main menu of the game. It would however be really nice if you could access it from within the game, so that you could tell one of your crafters to make this new thing that you thought of, without leaving the game.
Appeal, price, stats, required level of crafter and so on could be handled by an algorithm to keep it balanced. If you manually make part of the stats better then others will have to be made worse, or it will require a better crafter and so on. A super item will require a super crafter.
Still love the thought of this. It would be even better in multiplayer where you could have your own design and sell unique items to other players.
I’m sure one of the big issues people may face when making something like this is that the game is supposed to be very child friendly, and if people inevitably start making all kinds of dirty things as sculptures in great detail it may sorta backfire a bit.
Personally I think that it would make sense if it just required a master crafter of whatever sort of item you wanted to make, as it sort of shows that they’ve reached the peak of their constructive creativity to be able to make entirely custom things like that
Yes, they can make buildings shaped in questionable ways, but, blocks have no appeal and none of the hearthlings interact with them, nor is thought bubbles part of the equation.
The hearthlings interact far more with furniture, especially chairs - don’t think i need to go into details about the atrocities you can commit with a piece of furniture you know the hearthlings will use xD
Feels like an odd limitation to require a master crafter to make a slightly different version of a basic item, but on the other hand the game is full of that sort of limitations so it would fit in. Guess it would be a nice reward for getting a top level crafter, but personally I would feel restricted for no good reason.
