Storage movement errors

I’ve noticed the problem where they place a container from storage to fulfill a move order in A14 r524. The container that was set to be moved usually ends up in storage and if you’re not paying attention it seems like the items were deleted on the way.

I’ve tried naming the containers e.g ‘Large Create - Wood’ but they’ll still sometimes place unnamed ones from storage when ordered to move a named one.

I’m guessing the problem is that there is some sort of place task created when you make a move order which accepts any entity of that type to fulfill it when it needs to only accept the specific entity which was ordered to be moved there.

Also, I’m not 100% certain that I was on r524, but that update came out 3 days earlier (12th feb) than the earliest date stamp on my game files (15th feb), so I’m assuming that was the version I installed and saw this on.

Im scared to use crates now as i use alot of crates and moving them alot.:neutral_face:

It’s not that huge of a deal I don’t think because if stuff goes missing you can just place all stored crates of that type down and you’ll find your stuff in one of them, and so long as you don’t have any in storage they’ll move them around correctly it seems, so you can work around it by just placing unused crates somewhere instead of storing them.

@Krote is right @Cube1. its a workaround to the problem. nothing disappears that is in the crates the bug that’s happening is when you put a move order for a crate they sometimes place a new one that was in your stash in the place you want to move it to rather then the one that was supposed to be moved being moved
I think I heard yang say it should be fixed in a15

I cannot confirm, sorry…when do you think Yang said this? If it was on Tuesday nights stream I very well may have missed it as I was watching while at work… @8bitcrab was at the stream as well, perhaps he can confirm (if that is where she said it…)

im not sure if she said it was fixed for a15 or they were hoping it could get fixed for 15… it might have been someone else form TR that said something about it :disappointed_relieved:

not a clue… i wasnt paying to close attention to the stream, and had to leave before the end, due to irl stuff happening at the same time…

See as A15 has been released, let’s ask @yang if she said this was fixed in A15 (and I guess we should also check that it was fixed in A15…)

I have noticed there seems to be a limit on the distance for you villagers to start putting stuff in a crate. Is this new or did a14 have this to?

I think this was added to deal with the lag and ‘idle’ problems

@Fralee, any occurrences in A15 stable?
