Im thinking we need a succession game. What are your guy’s thoughts?
I can start a separate thread, we can work out the rules and play order, and then try our best not to end our fortress in a cacophony of bloodshed and destruction. At least, try not to end it in a cacophony of bloodshed and destruction too soon.
I say we start with the most inexperienced players first so they can’t do too much damage. Also we should name the fortress Stonehearth if we can.
For anyone wondering, My militia defeated the Hill Titan with the casualties of:
Dwarven Militia: 3 dead and 3 injured, About 50% of my militia dead.
Animals: 1 Llama dead.
Civilians: A Dwarven Baby, Survived the attack but later bled to death.
Elven Caravan that showed up during the battle: 0 Dead and 0 wounded, The pointy eared cowards hid in the hills while my men died bravely.
Many Dwarves are having bad thoughts…I only hope my militia can be ready by then…If not…Armok save us…
P.S. I will need to take my turn before the 28th as I will have to start studying for tests
So, like a Bloodline type game? That’d be cool, but I need to actually learn to play, and the book is coming around Wednesday, so maybe we can start it up around Friday?
Yeah… I’d really suggest getting that DF newbie pack, and playing a few games before starting so you can get a feel for it. Also… maybe have a few more experienced players go first? It gives the newbies more time, and a more secure point to play from, whereas if the newbies start & the entire expedition is trampled by elephants on Day 2… well yeah

So the soul of the soon to be great fortress of StoneHearth must endure a little longer. We will wait.
But we do not have the resources, Sire! The Goblin Armies are amassing to the North, The Humans have grown greedy and their eyes turn to our gold in the West and the Elves have never loved us and if they got the chance they would certainly ally with the humans against us! We need a new fortress to distract them with while we build our military!
The balance of Power in this world has changed, The Goblins are no longer the threat we once knew and our friends look towards their own gain. We must be ready to face the onslaught of this new age…

Just finished Headshoots…God damn, Nemo and HolisticDetective ARE gods. Why would anyone want to find Nemo, let alone make a movie about it! Imagine a bunch of people…No, THOUSANDS of people…No, MILLIONS of HAMMERLORDS looking for Nemo and then when they realise they just stumbled into the realm of a god…Holistic Detective (Because wherever there is Nemo, There is Holistic Detective)…Her bag (Talk about an old Lady’s handbag being dangerous) would smote more than Nemo’s sword could cleave-a-twain…
Oh come on, We are short of players. Can’t you make an exception just this once? Just imagine a Fire Demon as Overseer of a Dwarven Fortress! Imagine the Fun that would ensue!!!
Anyone know how to find a vampire? (An easy and non-time consuming way), I have all the signs, Corpses drained of blood and I used the CurseCheck command to be sure (I have 2 vampires apparently). So anyone have an easy way to find the vampire?
It will have tons of interactions with many, many former kingdoms and groups of people, will never had the 'had a whatever drink lately" or “eaten a whatever meal lately,” and will more often than not have high social and other skills. They will also never have family members in the fortress.
Lock the suspects in a burrow with no food. If one dwarf shows no symptoms of hunger/dehydration, then chances are, he’d be an Urist McFampyfangs.
I found the culprit, He was my Broker! I made him a noble AND THIS IS HOW HE REPAYS ME!!! Sadly he is more use to me alive than dead so I shall have to postpone his baptising. The other one however may be baptised upon his immediate discovery!
Also @RoseyNineOneOne, Will you join in the succession game? We do not have enough participants at the moment but once we do I expect endless amounts of Fun will ensue.
In a fortress with 129 civilians I find that to be too difficult. I used my own methods of finding out…Lock them in with the recently arrived merchants and see if they eat someone.
I was browsing through my book, and apparently there was a hilarious bug that caused vampires to accuse animals of being vampires!
