Hi everyone,
Are there any pre-compiled releases of the SHED tool? If yes, where? If no, why not?

Hi @illdred
At the moment we don’t have plans to release a build of SHED (AFAIK), but it’s something many of us wanted to do (@malley was pushing on this when we opened the Workshop, for example).
SHED has bugs and doesn’t completely support modding, imo there’s still some things that should be fixed before we consider uploading a build somewhere. Perhaps someone that already compiled it could give you a hand?
Hi @Relyss,
It may have bugs, yes, at the same time, it is a valuable tool that many modders could use. Acquiring Visual Studio and puttering around with compiling SHED is a pretty high barrier for a lot of people, especially people who are new to modding and programming.
I do not require assistance compiling it – the OP is general query about availability of pre-compiled SHED.
I’d be willing to make a thread with a pre-compiled version of SHED, if that is acceptable?
Let me ask @sdee . I agree it’s a valuable tool and I’m in favor of releasing some build sooner or later.
Let’s look into it. Part of the problem is that it’s still under active development, and it’s not part of our default build process. It might take a while to get it there.
For anyone looking for SHED, it is now shipped with Stonehearth since Alpha 24.8: Alpha 24.8 Now on Steam Unstable – Stonehearth
