Rsolution does not *Stay*

Summary:
Every time a new game starts if still fullscreen when game ends (and sometimes - randomly - if not fullscreen upon quitting)

Steps to reproduce:

  1. no one else seems to have this issue (???)
  2. Enable Full Screen - before loading game
  3. N/A

Expected Results:
Game should load as expected in enable Full screen: true, (user_settings.json)

Actual Results:
For over a year now - even if i configure User_Settings.json to say full screen: false, every time i load a new game it refuses to start,(settings are forced back to fullscreen: true, and i have to force User_settings.json back to fullscreen: false, every single time i start a new game - even after saving changed file)

Notes:
if forced to window from in-game upon exit it will load next time as windowed without issue (65% of the time it still has to be force set in the .json)

My Radeon never had this issue (iirc)
My native is 1920 x 1080 (Nvidia)
Stonehearth can never be found by GeForce (i do not know which file to force add)

Bios - 0501
Processor - Intel i5-440S @2.8 (3.10 turbo)
RAM - 8GB DDR3

Although i can live with this, it is annoying that i have to do this every time - thank you

Added note -

I do not own a true monitor - i am using my Hitachi HD TV (HDMI setting)

The file to add to the Nvidia settings would be the Stonehearth.exe located inside C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\Stonehearth

I found a couple similar reports here at Discourse (all were the same issue than you, they were using TVs as monitors) but sadly no one found a solution to it yet. I made a quick search on Google and it does happen for other Steam games.

It’s strange that it’s not detecting the TV. Does the TV have the correct resolution? Is it really set up as the primary display?

TV is set as primary (as you can tell i multy screen/dual screen) - but this happened even before i stated using secondary -

Although TV is HDMI… when screen turns on it says (1920 x1080 i not P - i don’t know if this would be to do with it though)

Thank you for letting me know it is a known issue - unfortunately i cannot test on my dual (secondary is VGA only, no HDMI input - i use an adaptor but the adaptor will not fit main)

Guess i just have to live with it for a time - as i say, no issue

Thank you @Relyss

P.s i have tried adding stonehearth.exe in Geforce, but it is still not recognized (there is no thumbnail for the game)

oh i see you have it added in Nvidia? not Geforce?

I have no GeForce in this computer

i will try this later then

Thank you again - it is your choice to keep/delete this thread - as i now have my answer

It might not work, so I’ll keep this open.
