[Res] Game not starting, no black screen, windows crash error

Hello my friend is having an issue where when he starts the game through steam he gets an dialogue box saying “Stone hearth has stopped working,” with the standard windows error box that says to check online for solutions. We’ve tried many things such as reinstalling the game multiple times and updating his video card driver (Nvidea Geforce 660). Thank you for your time, I hope this issue can be resolved.

Try the other workarounds stated here that you haven’t tried yet:
http://discourse.stonehearth.net/t/current-workarounds-try-these-if-youre-stuck/3972/10?u=relyss

Could you post your friend’s system specs, please (Processor, RAM, OS, etc)? That could help us narrow the problem. I’ll take a look at other similar threads and see if there are other things you can try.

I assume you have checked your drivers version from here:

Edit: This one is different, to say at least:

(Don’t know if it’s your case until you post your friend’s system specs)…

Thanks for the quick reply, I hope this can be resolved and if you need anymore information please let me know.

Hey after tons of trial and error and failing. I did the following; Custom made a user_setting.json file because his was just with his steam user id. Once i did that i manually changed the game from 64 bit to 32 bit and it started working. Thank you so much for your help, I cant wait to see what this game becomes!

Yay! I’m glad you sorted it out

It’s true that at first the user settings file it’s empty and if the game doesn’t start it may lack proper settings. I’ll add this to the workaround thread. Thanks for the follow up!
