Rayya's Children Write About The Church of Plenty

Summary:
The Church of Plenty is mentioned in journal entries even in Rayya’s Children games.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Start a game with Rayya’s Children in the desert
  2. Forget to keep them fed
  3. Check the journal

Expected Results:
Rayya’s Children would complain about starving, but not invoke the religion of the Ascendancy.

Actual Results:
Note the first gripe by Eyoha Rybb.

Notes:
Not a major issue, and I doubt very many people check the journal, but having unique responses by kingdom would allow for some more immersion and lore.

Version Number and Mods in use:
Alpha 19 [r687 x64]

System Information:
Windows 10, 64-bit. Let me know if I need to provide more information, but I’m pretty sure my system is irrelevant to this problem.

I’m not sure that the Church of Plenty is restricted just to the Ascendancy – after all, the Iskender clan are making maps of the whole world of Hearth, surely some of their explorers and traders have brought back knowledge of the Church and its teachings, even if Rayya’s Mystery is the main faith for the Children.

In fact, given how the few fragments of Rayya’s teachings seem to encourage inquisitiveness and open-minded-ness, I’d say that the followers of Rayya’s Mystery are probably at least aware of the other faiths, and I’d go so far as to say they’d be open-minded to learn about other folks’ beliefs and how the Church of Plenty operates. Whether they’d actually convert is a different matter, of course.

I’m going to tag @TurtleSquish though, since this is lore stuff… would be interesting to see where the story goes as far as interactions between RC/RM and the CoP.

Nice bug catch @coasterspaul very astute.

As a general rule the team has not shed (pun intended) much light on religions. We do know that each faction has its religion. As far as I know there is nothing to indicate that there is any crossfaithing (if I could make up a phrase) between factions. Equally, there is nothing concrete to disprove crossfaithing.

My personal feeling is that there is no crossfaithing. The main support I have is that as a general rule the official lore to stonehearth is very black and white if you would. The cute art work doesn’t end in the art. The lore itself tends to have a cute “slant.” (If your interested I could back this up some more later, but right now i gotta sleep)

I think crossfaithing is left for the fan fiction of the community.

Thanks for tagging me on this, very interesting.
